Chapter 10: Water

Planker's POV

I was stunned that Jake could do that. I expected Ricks soldier to beat him to unconsciousness I stuttered out,

"D...Did you use the power of the stone". I responded in a firm tone saying,

"No... Im stronger now after everything Rick and that anomaly did to me. I've memorized their movements and i use them".

Planker's POV
Three Days Later

We have made our way to the shore between Russia and Alaska. We were running out of food. I guess Rick thought we would get here sooner.

We ended up eating one of the horses so we could survive the barren wasteland that Russia had become. The water was rather tame and low Both me and Jake could ride on it as long as we do it in a day we should make it.

Jake looked up at me from across the fire and said,

"Lucas, do you think we can fight through her empire alone, just with us?" I smiled and said,

"No, no we cant but we do have Ricks section of her military to back us up...even so that's not enough."

"There has to be some survivors out there some people we can recruit to fight back""Jake we don't even know what America looks like it could be the same barren place as Russia or maybe it wasn't hit as hard we simply don't know." 

"Rick said Alaska was still cold so once we get over there its gonna go from 80 all the way down to fucking negative 20 Lucas so that has to mean America and the rest of the world wasn't hit as hard."

"We should get some sleep Jake".

We fell asleep and when we awoke in the morning we mounted the horse and gathered our gear with me at the reins and Jake at the back. We were both nervous but i kicked the horse and made it run knowing full well we had to do this quickly. About half way there the horse stepped on a landmine and blew itself all the hell taking most of the blast. I took a shrapnel to my left calf muscle. I was on my hands and knees bleeding i screamed,

"JAKE... JAKE WHERE ARE YOU." He ran over to me and said, 

"we gotta go we cant get stuck out here during nightfall its already getting colder". 

I nodded and reached out my hand to be helped up but once i got up the sky was covered in dark clouds with lightning flowing through them and striking near us. I looked back the way we came and saw a small group of maybe 10 lycans running at us. I pulled my sword and said, 

"Jake you better figure out how to use your damn powers right FUCKING NOW." Jake looked kinda stunned. 

i looked back at the lycans and limped into my stance ready to fight. One jumped at me and i stabbed it in its underbelly and let it slide off the sword. Then i sliced horizontally cutting another in half before stepping back and saying 

"eight to go". I readied myself and went to charge but i was stopped short by a massive wave crashing down on all of us. I struggled to stay afloat with my leg being injured and my right knee still healing i started to fall under the water and started losing consciousness before all the water seemingly disappeared. I fell to the ground and looked around. It was Jake pushing the water back as he glowed a dim white light he grabbed me and he jumped up and i said, 

"Oh you beautiful bastard you did it you fucking did it." 

He seemed so serious his expression didn't change as we flew through the air towards Alaska. I thought he would stop once we reached land but he just kept going. Taking massive jumps before he eventually stopped... back at his house. 

He put me down outside once he saw that there were still some lycans around. He walked towards them and when one went to pounce a bright white ray seemingly appeared out of his hand and he sliced through it easily and continued inside. I sat there listening to the dying screams of the remaining lycans inside. Jake came out about three minutes later and sat down. His glow faded away and he said, 

"My house is gone" I looked up at him and said, 

"Well you were right. at least America wasn't hit as hard, i mean West Virginia seems okay. i mean the skies still red and some of the grass is gone, and most of the population has been wiped out but still there is bound to be survivors somewhere." Jake sighed and said, 

"your right"

3 months later
Jake's POV

Me and Lucas had made our way north to New York city hoping to enlist the help of the Foundation. But we were only met with more tragedy. The entire upper level of the building had been destroyed. I looked to Lucas's face and saw the blood drained from his face as he mumbled out, 

"The anomalies must of gotten out." He ran towards the rubble of the building and said, 

"Use your powers to blast all this away" I obeyed him and powered up slightly and blasted the rubble backwards to reveal a long piece of steel Lucas breathed a sigh of relief and said, 

"I guess Emily realized the other anomalies wouldn't obey her rule so she locked them all away under this." I said, 

"Wait i remember you telling me a few years back that some of the anomalies could destroy steel and pass through it so the foundation had to create a new element to combat them." Lucas laughed and said, 

"look up there is a ring around it meaning, Emily cast a spell to keep them in after she destroyed the upper part." We had no choice but to head home and think of a new game plan. 

Another 3 Months Pass

We were planning to go through rainelle Lucas says people may have gone there since its a rather small town and has plenty of room for farming and is protected by the mountains. I was reluctant with it i tried to convince him that we should just Contact Rick and tell him that we are going to attack. Lucas wouldn't do it, so we moved towards rainelle. We encountered a impass though. A blockade. 

The Gas station at charmco had exploded and what was left had been turned into a lycan nest we decided against taking the road and moved up towards the mountain taking the long way. Lucas had his dragonov ready as he was really good at tracking and hunting he was following a set of lycan prints. At the top of the mountain we got ambushed. A large group of lycans. Lucas fired a shot at one then said, 

"Jake don't use your powers you know full well Emily can Track the power surge" I pulled a two handed axe off my back and started slicing the Lycans up trying my best to keep them at a distance. I saw Lucas go down trying to hold the lycans back with his Rifle he let out a scream of pain as one bit into his shoulder. He hit them off and blasted them to hell with his gun. Once he ran out of ammo he hit one with his stock before dropping his gun, pulling a knife out and stabbing one in the mouth. 

The entire time i'm slicing into lycans as they scratch at me all the wounds heal instantly as long as they stay away from my head and don't kill me, i knew i would be okay. Eventually we killed them all and started down the mountain. I noticed all the wounds i had scarred unlike the wounds that healed back in Russia. these were scarring like the healing process was just sped up instead of just reversing the wound and making it look like it never happened. Me and Lucas nodded at each other as i said, 

"You may have a unbreakable will Planker, but your pushing yourself." He responded angrily with, 

"I push myself trying to get my revenge for every one who died because of Aria and Emily and what did i tell you about calling me that." 

He grabbed his bag and headed down hill i reluctantly followed behind before Lucas stopped and laughed as he pointed through a clearing in the trees and said, 

"And you thought no one would be there." 

The entirety of Rainelle had been walled in with people inside and a lot of them We looked at each other knowing we had found our army.
