Kamsi sat at the edge of the long metal seat, she nudged her school bag close to herself, embracing it tight so as to give room for other people coming in to sit. She looked at their mother's face and it seems worried, people always say that they look alike but she couldn't see the resemblance herself.
She fidgets when the lady walked out of the room with some papers in her hand, she went and sat behind the desk, Kamsi guessed it's their result. The lady opened a long note with thick cover and took a pen from the desk. She picked one of the paper and started filling as she glanced using her finger to trace through the note book as she writes. She paused for some time to call a name before continuing with her writing and a man got up from his seat and walked to her.

"Are you the one?", she asked taking a glimpse at him.

"Yes!", he nodded.

She dropped her pen and folded the paper with both hands, "here is your result", she said as she hands it over to him.

Kamsi watched him as he unfolds it and went through it for some time then fold it back and walked out.

"Kamsi!", her heart leapt inside her stomach as she heard the lady called. She saw their mother going to meet her and she followed, the lady handed the folded paper to her and she nervously waited for their mother to open it, instead she asked her verbally.

"what is the result?"

"It's positive!", the lady answered.

Kamsi nearly fainted from where she stood as her mother gave her a thunderous slap on the other eyes, she saw some tiny stars escape through them.

"Madam take it easy! Do you want to kill her!", shouted the fair woman among them.

Kamsi held her eyes in tears as people stare trying to figure out what's amiss.

"So because it's not your own daughter that is pregnant! I bet your type would have done worse if you were to be in my shoe!", she angrily answered the woman and everyone started murmuring.

"Heeeiiihhhh! Is that so!", she exclaimed with surprise, "madam sorry o!, I didn't know", she apologizes.

Their mother pulled out one of her shoes and started hitting Kamsi using the pointed heel.

"Who impregnated you?", she continued hitting her and one of the men came to Kamsi's rescue by holding their mother's hand and standing in between them.

"It's okay!", he told her.

"Children of nowadays is something else!", shouted their mother and the fair woman agreed with her.

"That means I have to keep a fixed eye on my own daughter o!", she exclaimed, "my problem with them is that they can lie, you see this one", she said pointing at Kamsi, "she knows who did it but won't tell until you force it out of her"

"Madam please calm down, this is not the best way to ask her", the man told their mother.

"What other way do you mean? So I should go and fry an egg and then serve her before asking?", she yelled at him and he stopped her as she tries to hit her again.

"You are looking for my trouble! Leave me! I said leave me now!", she shouted at the man.

"Please madam! Please!", he continued to plead

"Leave her alone to handle her! .... Is it not her daughter! .... Who asked her to get pregnant! ..... This man you are acting suspicious! .... Are you sure he's not the one that impregnated her!", the people started attacking him and he had no choice but to let go of her hand and went back to his seat.

Their mother wore back her shoe and went close to Kamsi, she gripped her neck from the back and dragged her out of the building to the car.

"Enter let's go!", she told her, "Your father will kill you and that thing today!", she said prodding her stomach as she enters the back seat.
Their mother curse as she drove with the unceasing question of, "who did it?".
