The wind howled through the creeking, spindly trees that moaned under the weight of the pelting hail. The storm grew out of control, thrashing the barn with lifted debris, being thrown with the divine and terrifying power of nature.
Thunder rumbled solemnly in the distance- drawing closer with perpetual resilience-  a bolt of lighting flashed in Dean's glassy eyes. He lay, sprawled on the hard, dirty, wooden floor of the barn grasping desperately at his gaping chest. Blood rushed from it, a river of crimson against his pale sickly complexion, it pooled around him staining the planks with a dark puddle.
She stood over him and laughed, her eyes gleaming. Turning on her heel and sauntering off, she called back patronisingly "I do hope your friends come and save you!"
He tried to retaliate, all that came out was a plea and a groan as the pain shot through his body as if his veins were on fire.
Don't come. Let me die alone knowing that' you are safe. Please....The roar of a familiar engine cut through his thoughts.
No!
Dean held on to life like he was gripping at some invisible rope that might not snap under his weight and send him tumbling off the edge and into the unknown abyss. Hoping. Praying. That he would get to see a loved face again. That he could stare into those blue, blue eyes..... One more time.
A jolting spark of life shot through him, amassing all his remaining strength, Dean hauled himself across the rough floor towards his gun.
It had been loaded prior, and, not having had a chance to be fired, it lay like it still.
When Dean heard a familiar husky voice call his name he felt another surge of energy, with this he gripped the gun tightly, aimed, and fired. The bang echoed through his head, more like a cannon than a pistol. With the kick back from the gun he was sent onto his back and the weapon slipped from his hands. He glimpsed a figure falling to the ground and breathed a sigh of relief, although it was shortly followed by an explosion of agony in his chest and blood erupting from his lungs.
Suddenly there was a body by his side, its warmth radiating through his skin.  He was pulled into the figure's arms and cradled gently as it hunched over him. His features came into view now, his beautiful blue eyes filled with tears.
"Cas" managing to speak at last, he said the only thing he could think.
"You can't go Dean" Leaning into Dean's shoulder he broke down into a sob.
"Don't..." Dean swallowed back the blood rising In his throat.
"Dean you can't go. We have so much left to do. I'm in love with you Dean you can't Die."
Dean's eyes widened and he gripped Cas' shoulder tightly for support as he took a deep breath and spoke.
"I- I wish I had told you earlier"
Dean felt himself slipping from life, his soul dying and his body withering
"What Dean?" Cas leant in to hear, his ear almost touching Dean's lips.
"I l- I love you too....." Dean's whispered, his eyelids fluttered and his breathing shallowed.
"No Dean...." Cas' tears rolling down his face, almost stung as they made landed on Dean's cheek. He smiled lightly as he heard Cas speak, then his heart slowed and he closed his eyes.

Cas sat in the draughty barn, storm raging around him, and watched as Dean's soul flickered and went out like a candle. His wings, of their own accord, opened and wrapped around the both of them, his feathers brushing Dean's cheek gently. Pulling his Love's body onto his lap and rocking it back and forth, he cryed aloud and begged for him to come back. As he closed his eyes and hoped for a miracle, he felt a wash of tiredness sweep over him and his body became suddenly heavy.
A tight grip encased his body and he struggled for air, as if he were drowning in oxygen.
What's happening to me?
His attempts to try and wriggle out of the grasp were pitiful, and pointless. The grip tightened and he was dragged backwards, as Dean's body slipped through his fingers he cried out for him.
I can't leave him. I won't leave him!
He didn't get much of a choice however.
There was black. Then there was a light, a blindingly bright one, piercing the shroud of emptiness engulfing Cas. He was being dragged towards it.
