Cas' husky, pained voice filled the quiet space, and Dean could tell immediately; the spell had worked, his Angel was back.
"Cas!" he cried, running to unchain him, and let him fall into his arms.

Sam and Dean carefully carried him upstairs, where they sat him down in the library. His bruises and bloody nose standing out against his ashen skin, he looked dreadful.
"I'm sorry Cas." Sam said.
"It was necessary. I bare no grudge" Cas stated simply, and patted Sam's hand.
"Thank God that bitch is out of you now" Dean smiled, kissing Cas' forehead, and pulling him into a gentle hug, careful not to squeeze his bruised body too hard.
Cas pushed Dean off him, and looked away.
"Sam. Piss off." Dean joked, realising this could be awkward with him around. Sam shrugged and left the two alone.
Cas' eyes were shimmering with tears, threatening to spill.
"Are you OK angel? ..... I mean apart from the beatings" Dean smiled and reached for Cas' cheek gently, but he moved his face and let a tear slip down his face.
"Baby, what's wrong?" Dean said, more worried now, reaching out and forcefully holding Cas' hand. He tried to squirm out but was held stead fast.
"Its just..... What I did- to you.... I'm so sorry Dean..... What you must think of me...... " Cas said, and began crying quietly. Dean grabbed his chin with finger and thumb, and turned Cas head to face him.
"It wasn't you" He said simply, and kissed Cas' passionately, sweeping the terrible thoughts from his head. He wiped Cas' tears away, and hugged him close.
"I love you. No matter what. And don't you dare think I am angry, because that wasn't you." Dean smiled, and kissed him again gently.
"Thank you Dean"
"If course Angel." They held each other in a warm embrace, for a while, and then Sam came back in looking for a book.
Dean and Cas pulled apart slowly, and stood up holding hands.
"Ahem" Dean coughed. Sam turned around, and raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"We.... Uh- have something to tell you" Dean muttered.
"Yeah?" Sam coaxed.
Cas looked utterly confused, he must have forgotten that they hadn't told Sam yet...
Dean lifted their hands and angled them to show Cas'. Sam gasped when he saw the second, more expensive ring on Cas' hand.
"You guys!" He screamed, hugging them both, and jumping around excitedly.
"Ooooohhhh I should leave you guys alone for a while..... Bye. I'm going out, maybe I'll ask Eileen to join me"
"ATTA BOY SAMMY" Dean called after him enthusiastically.
"Have fun" Cas winked.

"Can we watch a movie Dean?"
"Ya know, that actually sounds great"
Dean put in a cheesy romcom, and settled down on their bed, pulling Cas against him, his head to rest on his own chest.
They laughed and awwwed, and near the end, both cried quietly.
By the time the film was over, Cas had peacefully drifted off, and so Dean turned and switched off the light. He layed in Cas' lap that night, it was the first time he had been the cuddlee, not the cuddler, and he loved the feeling of safety and warmth he felt in Cas' arms.
"Good night Angel. I will love you for eternity, and beyond this life. You are my everything, and I would die for you." Dean said the while thing thinking Cas was already in a deep sleep, but his shuffling must have woken the sleeping beauty, because he hugged him tighter, planted a gentle kiss on his neck and whispered,
"Dean, you are my reason to live...."
