SUNLIGHT WAS APPROACHING, AND DAWN WAS BEAUTIFUL.
But what wasn't so beautiful was that Shina had to wake up at the earliest light of dawn.
She almost regretted being a priestess.
But she got up anyway. She dressed up in her usual robes and pushed the door open, sliding it to hear a ruckus of other priestesses getting ready.
Shina eventually got out of her dim-lit room and rushed to the main dining hall.
Everyone gathered as usual.
But after breakfast Meikata stood up, and parted her lips for some announcement.
Everyone turned their heads to her direction.
"I have something important to announce.." she tries to look at everyone with every minute possible.
"I have recieved a letter from other temples requesting to have the sakura blessing festival here. Meaning all of the temple residents from other temples will visit and a great deal of people will come and attend as well."
Her pretty voice filled the silence of the dining hall.
Soon loud whispers were heard everywhere , one whispering to another.
Really? here?!
But the sakura blessing festival has always been held in another temple..
This is a first!
Shina had always heard of Sakura blessing festivals, but never actually experienced or participated in any of it.
She just heard it's some festival people went for fertile blossoming harvest.
But apparently she is going to help and participate in this event.
She felt glad as this is her first time participating and even being an important part in this event.
" And we need help on setting up the decorations and dances to entertain our guests." she completes her sentence while brushing the dust from her robe and settled to sit down.
After the exciting announcement, All the temple servants had subsided to carry on with their own chores.
She looked at the paper order Sarata had given.
She had to clean, as usual and work with the other priestesses to help put up the signs and decorations.
Soon after she had finished her cleaning chores, she went ti the main entrance where she could hear a great deal of footsteps running and going about, helping with the setting of the Sakura blessing festival.
So she went over to help.
But she came across two priestesses fighting over something.
There weren't enough ink for more of the sign boards.
But this wasn't a big deal.
This is easy.
Shina stepped in the conversation.
"Excuse me."
The other two were too busy fighting over it so she decided to solve the problem herself.
Without noticing, she grabbed the ink bucket and filled it with water.
She brought it back to see two surprised faces.
"You see, this is common knowledge. There is clearly enough ink stains to make do into a good ink."
She bows while walking away to put up some banners.
Both of them were speechless.
They weren't smart enough to get it right.
Shina felt good helping around in this kind of situation.
She couldn't wait for the festival.
She was looking around to see who was helping around.
She happened to see Makoto. His eyes happened to meet hers too.
She couldn't take her eyes off of him.
She just somehow loved looking at him.
She was afraid it would turn into obsession.
So she smiled at him and turned away with flushed cheeks.
Do i like him?..
No.No. You don't like him. Its just because he's your friend.
She shook off her thoughts and went back to work, barely focusing.
Time passes rather quickly.
Before everyone knew it, it was already evening. The sunset was rather beautiful.
Its like Shina wanted to touch it and taste it.
Shina was in the middle of admiring it when her shoulder was tapped by a strong finger.
She turned to see Makoto.
"Hey. just wanted to check in on how you're doing." he smiles while sitting down.
Shina joined in.
"I feel excited for the festival. I can't help this surge of adrenaline flowing through my feelings." she smiled back while staring at the finished progress the Temple servants finished at.
The banner was tied to the entrance tightly, while tables and stalls were set up far away from the entrance.
"I can't imagine dancing here , in front of everyone." she sighed while nervously breathes.
" You aren't the only one . Don't forget we're dancing too." he joked while the both of them giggling.
"I think it's bath time." Sarata places her small hands onto her waist while the both of them turned to see her.
"Of course!.. be seeing you then" Makoto raised a hand behind his head and nervously laughs while turning to wave at Shina.
"Then i'll be going" she bows to Sarata and walks to her room to take a warm bath.
Sarata smiled while crossing her arms , while her short cut hair flew with the wind.
"They'll make a great couple." she stood there for awhile , admiring the sunset Shina admired a while ago.
