A priestesses' fate isn't so cruel

Chapeter 19

Outside the temple steps ...

Shina and Makoto walked past the green countryside nearby the temple. There was a town not so far from where they were standing.

Shina fumbled through her bag to find some crumpled money. Makoto understood what she was doing so he waved his hand up and coincidentally a town taxi came by and halted.

"That was fast." Shina held the money in her hands and unconsciously took Makoto's hand in hers. when they got in the taxi, she only realized that and blushed and let go of his hand.

"oh! sorry.." She smiled awkwardly and told the taxi to drive to the city where her foster parents were. Makoto smirked at how cute she was."It's fine." He chuckled mentally at how Shina reacted. through the whole ride, it was quite long and  bumpy. Makoto watched Shina as she looked away to the green country fields that were slowly changing into small buildings.

Makoto kept watching. *Bump!* The rocky road caused a shaking sensation that Shina came falling into Makoto's arms. They both looked at each other, blushing. Shina pulled away a little and smiled nervously. "No worries. Bumps on the ride are normal." The driver reminded the both of them while smiling.

"uh.. yeah." Shina responds, while Makoto nodded along. The ride was quie bumpy and long. Shina fell asleep and leaned her head unknowingly on Makoto's shoulder. Makoto blushes but smiles and brushes her long fine hair. 

It didn't take long enough when they came to the city. The driver stopped and informed their arrival. Shina woke up to find herself in Makoto's arms. Makoto smirks and chuckled. "Ah! sorry!" She blushed and payed the driver while heading out the taxi with her things. Makoto followed her out. The driver drove on aimlessly.
"Those two make a great couple." The driver smiled and drove on.

"So Shina where is your foster parent's house?"  Makoto asked her while she looked up at him. "Follow me. It wont be that long. Shina walked for what seemed like some good long minutes and finally reached the house after walking along the city pavement. The blue sky remained calm in the air.

Makoto looked at the house in amazement. Shina smiled and waited outside the gate. It was a rather big house. No, a mansion. A light yellow coloured, for instance. "You lived here..?" Makoto surprisingly looked at Shina. "Yeah. follow me. Don't just stand there." She chuckled innocently and led him in. A maid from afar saw her and went back inside to inform Shina's arrival.

A few maids came outside later and welcomed them. Shina greeted back and Makoto followed Shina into the mansion. And in the living room were the parents. They smiled in joy and rushed to hug her. "Mom, dad.." She still addressed them as her parents even though she knew they weren't her real ones.

Soon they noticed the handsome boy beside her and recognized him. With widened eyes, they bowed and greeted him. "Young master Senichi!-"

"Please, stand up!.. i'm no longer the young master anymore." He helped them up to their feet. "Huh? why?" Risa Senshino looked up. "I've committed into a priest."He smiles.

"That is unexpected.. But please sit down. Tell us why you returned.." Mr. Senshino and Mrs. Senshino sat down as the maids served tea. Shina and Makoto sat down opposite them in a couch.

"I have learned that you aren't my real parents.." She smiled.. and tear drops almost escaped the prison of her eyes. Her foster parents were both in shock, but relieved that she knew the truth. "And why is the former young master here?" Her foster mother politely asked. "He wants to help me and his family." And soon, Shina then explained that she knew her real parents and why Makoto came along with her.

Makoto atcually explained most of his reasons. He explained that he was supposed to marry Reina Sanagi. But he didn't like her. And He also explains that he suspects Shina's father might have been murdered.

Shina's foster parents understood and felt like it's time to tell her and him.
"So you both came here to know more clues to the death of him?" Mr. Senshino answered.

"Yes.. we are determined.." Shina fiddled with her fingers in tension. Mrs. Senshino and Mr. Senshino looked at each other.

"Yes. this will be a long story.. make yourself in comfort in the meanwhile.."

Mr. Senshino tried to fight back his tears while telling the tale of his late beloved best friend.

"Your father.. never got along with his step mother.. and yes.. they did seem very suspicious. Your mother went to our doorstep.. and only then we did acknowledge that he had a wife in secret..." Mr. Senshino wiped a tear of his face. Mrs. Senshino just remained silent.

"I see now.. thank you for telling us.." Shina got up and hugged her foster parents. "Thank you very much, Mr. and Mrs. Senshino." Makoto got up and bowed to shina's foster parents.

"But i would like to know where my dad lived." Shina stood up before leaving.

Mr.Senshino just sighed and wrote down the directions on a single paper. "I hope you wouldn't do anything out of impulse.." He frowned.

"it's fine, we won't do that.." Shina smiled faintly and went out of the mansion she lived in for 18 years. She led Makoto out and hailed a taxi back to the temple.
She felt as if she's heard enough.

MEANWHILE, AT THE SANAGI MANSION...

Rei Sanagi sat down in the spacious living room, waiting for her daughter Reina to arrive. She sipped some coffee offered by the household maid.

Then, the door was slammed open. Rei was suprised by Reina's sudden arrival and stood up to greet her daughter. "Reina!, my darling! how was work today?" She wanted to take her coat off for her but instead, Reina just threw it onto the couch nearby.

"Reina? whats-"

"SHUT UP!" She clutched her hair and let it go for a moment while she dropped onto the couch. "Reina!" Rei looked at her curiously.

"I hate this job!! Everything is full of stress and hard work!" She yelled at her mother while standing up.

"You insolent child! if i hadn't bribed that police officer to let us off the suspect list, we would have been jailed for life! or even shot!" Rei fought back.

"But did you ever think about me? you only though about money! leave me alone!!" Reina stormed away up the stairs of the spacious manor.

"Reina-" Rei frowned and balled her hands into fists. She just sighed and nodded and walked away.

Meanwhile, in Kesata's former room..

The secret camera captured all of their conversations and arguements. It recorded and shot out a small tape under the bed. It was hidden under the bed and remained unseen the whole time.
