~Monsters are real, ghosts too. They live in me. You made me a Monster. A ghost of a body that was once a person, now a shell only remains.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Waking with a startle, Betty bolts upright. Sweat dripping down her forehead, she takes a shuddering breath, trying to calm down her mind and body.
Wiping her clammy hands on her pants, she notices shackles back onto her red raw wrists. A sigh escaped through her dry cracked lips as she patted her left breast, trying to feel for the tags she always kept with her. Though as quick as the sigh escaped it was swiftly drawn back in when she couldn't find them. Feeling around dread and worry filled her when she couldn't feel them anywhere on her.
Whipping around towards the uncomfortable metal bed she was lying on moments before, Betty rips the blanket off. Shaking the beige cloth ferociously, she listens for any sound that could be her precious tags. When no sound projects from the walls, her hands quickly find her -equally uncomfortable- pillow, that sat at the top of her make-shift bed. Grabbing the pillow Betty tears the case off (again) trying to find her irreplaceable tags, that somehow mean everything to her.
Again Betty finds nothing but stone like cushion.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Avergers look through the monitor at the frantic girl. She was obviously looking for something. Something that they now had. As Betty fell unconscious she had dropped the tags that were clutched in her flesh right hand. When they dropped, it skidded over by the door on the other side of the pristine white room.
Tony looked down at his hand looking at the relatively clean tags. Wondering why she had them, he knew who James Buchanan Barnes was. Steve's best friend. Practically brothers back then, but he didn't know why she had them. One thing he did know was that he's going to find out tonight.
When everyone left to turn in for the night, Tony's plan sprung into action. He made sure no one was watching her or at the monitors when he left his bedroom.
As he was walking down the long-ish corridor, Tony was fiddling with the tags in his rough palms. Arriving at the cage door, he raised his left hand and placed it on the scanner. When he got accepted to go in Tony grasped the handle and let himself in. As he stepped through the door way in his expensive dress shoes his gaze landed apon the girl, who had an anxious look on her face.
However, as Tony started to talk it startled the girl. She had confusion written all over her face, but she had a undertone of hostility. Tony thought nothing of it however, because once a Hydra weapon. Always a Hydra weapon. Right?
"Why did you have these tags, Betty" he asked. Betty looked up surprised at such a question. Once she calmed her self she recoiled by not saying anything.
"Who of Hydra sent you to act like a lost puppy. Mhmm. I want answers." He pressed further, not thinking how she would react.
"I-I don't know." Betty said, yet she sounded unsure. To Tony this set of a little red flag in his head. "I'm not falling for this act. I want answers and I want it now!" He yelled, Not caring if she was scared.
Betty tried to scamper further into the metal bed she was given. Trying to get away, not wanting any punishment for something she didn't know the answer to. At this point she was trying to find an answer for the question. Searching her mind for anything but that's when she remembered this man had her things. It was HERS not his. Hers.
Coming up with a quick plan she had no better options then to lunge and hope for the best. Waiting a few seconds to catch him of guard. That's when she lunged for the tags. Her irreplaceable tags. Almost getting there when her shackles yanked her back. Though her foot smacked the tags from the man's hand. They were souring through the air, before he could react she kicked it further to her and snatched them up from the floor below her. Holding them close to her chest as much as she possibly could.
