I was awaken with a continuous knocking on the door. I rub my eyes and look over at the clock, 3:07 pm. I must've fallen asleep after breakfast. I stand up and head for the door. I open the door to see my mother and Jeffery standing on the other side. "Finally, come on, we're going shopping!" My mother says excitedly. I had forgotten about the shopping and about Cade. I glance over at the the bed where he was. We must've fallen asleep hours ago. Something made me want to stay. "Um well, suddenly not really feeling up for shopping," I say blocking their view to the room. "You know, whole, struck by lightning thing, probably should get some more rest." I say slowly shutting the door. "You sure?" My mother says peering through the crack still left open. "Yup. Bye!" I say closing the door. "Okay I'll see you soon, call me if you need anything!" I hear my mother yell from the door between us. I hear her footsteps walk away. I turn and see Cade, still outstretched on the bed. His legs were bent with his arm tucked under a pillow. His red t-shirt partly twisted up, revealing his slightly tanned faded 6 pack. I stare at his body. I see the faint elevation followed by the lowering of his chest. I shake his image from my view and walk over to the TV. I click it on and start to search through the channels. I return to my spot on the bed. Cade lays next to me. I can feel his breath against my legs. A stranger, or a person I barely know, laying in the same bed as me. Usually a thought that would have never occurred to me in the past. But there I was, it happening in front of my very eyes. I lay down and began to fall asleep again. I don't know why, but I didn't mind Cade being there. I didn't want to go shopping. I didn't want to watch tv. All I wanted was to be there, laying next to him. So I did. I let our breaths fall into rhythm before drifting in to sleep once again.
