I slide the door key in its slot before opening the door into my room. It was neat and empty. I don't know where Cade was. I haven't seen him since he walked off. I walk over and throw myself on the bed. I sigh in relief, happy to be relaxing. I still was pretty hungry so I reach down and open the mini fridge filled with highly expensive goodies. I reach to get a pre cut sandwich and a water. I sit alone on the bed watching Spongebob, and munching on the sandwich. I crumple up the wrapper before tossing it into the trash. I miss Cade. I missed his company beside me. A knock came at the door. I spring to my feet and dash to the door. I open the door in hope of seeing Cade. Jeffery stands in the doorway rubbing his eyes. I slump down in disappoint. "yes Jeffery?" I ask pretending that I had been asleep for hours. "I had a bad dream." he says quietly looking at the ground. I lean against the door. "really Jeffery? don't you think you're getting a bit old for this? Besides you and mom share a room." he looks up at me with huge puppy eyes. "please?.. I'm so scared." he asks returning his eyes to the ground. I sigh in defeat, moving to the side to let Jeffery in. He lights up with comfort and dashes to my bed. He snuggles and pats the area next to him. I sigh again, closing the door and laying down next to him. "cool spongebob!" He calls out loud. "so what were you so spooked about?" I ask turning in his direction. His expression turns cold. "I told you, I had a bad dream." he says, shifting uncomfortable in place. "well," I say nudging him gently. "what was it about?" I ask persisting. "well I was outside," he starts. Suddenly the door clicks open and Cade comes strolling in. "aw, my spot was taken. " Cade playfully complains before sitting on the recliner parked in the corner of the room. Jeffery smiles before scooting closer to me, making room for Cade. A smile stretches across his face before he got up and sat next to Jeffery. "Night little guy." Cade says laying next to him. "Goodnight Cade." Jeffery says falling asleep. We were quiet until we were sure Jeffery had fallen fast asleep. "Psst..." Cade whispers to me. "Are you asleep?" he asks. "yup. that's why I'm talking to you." I whisper back. "oh good cuz I thought you were gonna be awake or something." he whispers sarcastically. I laugh, trying to conceal my noise. "Man I slept all day, I don't wanna go to sleep now." he whispers slowly sliding off the bed. " So let's not." I suggest also sliding off. "Well what can we do?" Cade whispers raising his eyebrows at me. I smile at the thought of what he could be possibly thinking. "we could..stay up all night.." I say walking closer and closer to him. " And we could do something that is ... so.. much... Fun." I whisper closing in on his face. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I whisper playfully. "Are you thinking that we watch Netflix all night while completely emptying that mini fridge?" He whispers back. "exactly." I whisper smiling. I dart over to the fridge and pull out the good snacks. He turns on the tv and types in his Netflix account. We sit together on the floor, watching season after season of Friends, while scarfing down junk foods. A feeling of butterflies came to my stomach when I looked at him. I loved spending time with him. Do I like him? no, that can't be,... but if I did, would that be so wrong?
