I looked around and saw a mansion with a beautiful garden full of red and white roses along with other flowers. The skies were blue with no clouds in sight and the wind was just a gentle breeze.
"Why do they hate me?" I heard a little girls voice say. I turned around to see a girl looking into a pond. She had long black hair, but that was all I could see since I was only looking at the back of her head.
I drew closer and looked over her shoulder to see Bethany smirking. I looked at the little girls face to see that it was my own when I was young. This is my memory.
"Why does mommy lock me in the dungeon? And why does daddy hurt me?" My parents hated me? Wait a second! My dad died before I was born! And mother loved me! Not only that, but we weren't rich! This is just a delusion. This isn't real! The more time ran by, the morre frusterated I got. Bethany is just playing with me! Don't fall for it! My breathing became faster and heavier as I tried to get rid of this memory.
"This isn't real!" I screamed out. Everything started warping and I fell to the ground and shut my eyes. I was trembling and I did't want to face reality. This can't be my reality!
"What's going on?! Stop toying with me Bethany! Please! Just stop!" I heard her echoing laugh. I opened my eyes, hoping that the warping stopped. Everything was calm, but i should have know it wouldn't last long when Bethany appeared in front of me.
"This is real, Zane. I'm sorry to say, but the mother you remember is just something you created. You created her and now she is a powerful demon." She disappeared and reappeared right be my side in a flash. She was hovering in the air as she whispered in my ear. She smirked as she saw my eyes go wide and my bottom lip tremble. It was just so hard to take in and believe.
"You are also the reason why your sister is a monster. You create monsters."
"Why? How?" I asked with my voice shaking.
"Because he chose you." She disappeared, but her echoing laugh kept on echoing, slightly getting softer and fading away.
"Wait! Who is 'he'?! And how did I turn my sister into a monster?! How can I save her?!" I shouted as looked everywhere for her.
"Your memories." I heard her whisper it and be carried away with the wind.
Then the grass below me started breaking and I tried to keep my balance as the ground cracked. The white, roman design mansion fell with dirt flying up like a fog. I coughed as dirt filled up my lungs. I collapsed, not having any strength to stand up. My lungs burned and itched as my eyes felt like the dirt was scratching it like cats would do. Then I felt nothing solid under me. I opened my eyes to see that I was falling into darkness. I closed my eyes and felt as if my organs tried to escape my insides when I fell onto solid ground.
I groaned in pain as I pulled myself up to see a dungeon. A cell was ahead of me and there was me huddled in a corner. Looks like I'm still trapped in my memories. But didn't Bethany say that in order to save my sister, I have to look in my memories?
I stood up, but stumbled from pain. I felt liquid on my head, but it felt like sappy, thick oil. I lifted my hand to touch the liquid on my head and looked at it to see that it was red and thick. Blood.
I heard dangling keys down the hall. I flicked my head to the right and there was a rich man in tuxedo walking down with two bodyguards.
He stopped in front of the cell with the little girl in it. When the man reached the cel, he smiled darkly at the girl, but the girl kept her head lowered, hiding in the cramped corner.
"It's time." The bodyguards unlocked the cell and roughly dragged her out. She stumbled and the man tugged her to the side, causing her to accidentally ran her head into his leg.
"Ouch! You little brat!" He raises his hand and slapped her with a red imprint on her cheek. She fell down and small streams of tears fell down with her hair covering her face, but she didn't make one sound. She just stood up and followed the man.
I followed behind her to enter a room. The room was empty except for a table full of knives. There was a chair in the middle of the room that faced a window, and on the other side was a small crowd of people.
The girl sat down and they strapped her tightly, and blue bruises appeared on her arms. The the rich man put on gloves and picked up a knife, inspecting it with a sickening smile.
"This will do." He said as he walked to the girl. He forced her mouth open and pulled out her tongue.
"Eh!" She whined as he pulled her tongue out further then it can go.
"Watch as she finally dies! She won't be able to survive this!" The man laughed and giggled as he said this.
I turned around as I heard the cutting sound and her crying out in pain. People in the crowd cheered as they shouted for 'more'. What sick psycho's!
I looked over to see her mouth was closed, but blood seeped out, pouring. There was so much that it surprised me. This is what happened to me on the past. People tried to kill me because I couldn't die. Flashes of my memories came over to me. Kids throwing rocks at me as they shouted 'monster'. My mother throwing me inside the cell with a hateful face. Father, that rich man, trying to kill me.
I sunk to the ground and cried. After a while, I felt arms around me. I looked up to see Drake hugging me. The reality of my memories seemed to disapear, but I didn't put much thought into that. I was on the verge of a breaking point. I wish I just didn't know and kept my fake memories instead.
"Drake!" I called out his name as I hugged him tighter. I needed his support. I didn't want to let go, because for some reason, I felt safe right here. Maybe that's why I calmed down so quickly. I let go to rub my swollen eyes. I felt weak doing this. I felt out of control and a fake, but i asked for this, so too late now. Thats right. I need to be strong so that I could save all thats left, because if thats lost, then my soul would surely die.
"Sorry..." I apologized as I pushed myself away from Drake and turned the other way to wipe my tears. Why I said sorry? I didn't know why either. All I knew was that I was thankful.
"Are you done crying?" Drake asked with no expression on his face, but when I looked into his eyes, I swear I saw I sparkle of concern. He's trying to hide his emotions again. I couldn't help but let out a soft giggle.
"Yeah." I stood up and took notice on how I was soaked from the pond. My clothes sagged and my shoes felt like anchors. My black shirt clung to me and I pulled up my shorts to keep them from falling down, which made me look a little awkward.
"So what did you learn about Bethany?" Alan asked.
"Well I knew her since I was a kid. Do you know a big mansion that looked like a roman person built it?"
"Well there aren't many mansions around here, but I think I do know what you are talking about." Carrie said as she had her finger on her chin and her eyes gazed up.
" I visited there when I was younger because my father was a noble. It's on the east side of here. But it's filled with monsters. We are going to have to get help from the government."
"Then let's go!" Nate chirped. I don't know why, but Nate's smile has somehow always made me confortable and feel a swelling in my heart. Happiness.
"Okay, but first let me get changed first" I ringed my shirt to let water out, and it splashed into a good-sized puddle.
"Well this is going to be a pain." I grumbled to myself. Whats worst was that this was my only change of clothes since they kinda kidnapped me/ save me. I don't know which one i should think of it as, but no way am I going to say 'thanks' when they took me against my will.
