Ryan was on a short break when he received the call from his agent. When he hung up, he couldn't help sitting back and taking a moment to absorb the news. Phil informed him if this latest film does well, he could command more per film. Much more.
He was exceedingly blessed and he knew it. His tall, lanky frame, boyish good looks, dirty blond hair that often fell over his eyes, and his ability to transform his personality for a role made him a captivating presence on screen. Already offers were pouring in whereas a few months ago, he had to practically beg for auditions. But steadfast confidence and a premonition that somehow, someway he was going to make it big sustained him. His mother was still a beautiful woman with shoulder-length blond hair and feline blue eyes that twinkled whenever she smiled. He knew his father Jerry had creativity in him when he used to make up fantasy stories with well thought-out characters and fanciful plots that he would act out to his son at bedtime when he was a little boy. But his father had to stifle his creativity because he needed to work hard. Ryan reflected that if he kept getting work in Hollywood, perhaps, maybe, a big maybe, he would be able to make his parents' lives easier.
Then his thoughts shifted back to Christine. What a sweet and beautiful girl she is! As he thought about her, he could almost smell the musk scent she wore. Musk was his favorite.
She was a thoroughly decent person who, in his mind, resembled a pure angel. Raised a strict Catholic, she wanted to remain a virgin until marriage. Ryan raised his eyebrows and shook his head in wonder: doesn't she realize what a knockout she is! Every man who sees her stops and stares with his mouth hanging open. Her long thick blonde hair flowing over her shoulders every time she turns around, her long legs, perfectly shaped from cheerleading, and her thin, lithe frame—Hollywood actresses would kill for that body! Her big blue eyes and generous smile beguiled everyone who encountered her.
And Ryan found her!
He occasionally toyed with the idea of proposing to her, but he knew it wasn't the right time. He had to work hard on his fledgling career and Christine wanted to finish college and possibly try her hand at modeling, which he was convinced she would certainly rise to the top. He admired her determination to be the first in her family to graduate college as well as her ambition to model.
She's trying to make it on her own without relying on me. What a find!
