On Tuesday of that week, Wyatt returned home. The excitement in the Hunter house drew attention to a lot of out siders. They put together a fandango for his return.

Jessie had not yet set eyes on her older brother since he returned. She set up in her room until she couldn't take it anymore she had to go see him. The party was in full swing as she ran down the stairs, she stops at the bottom, seeing Daisy and him together. Her thoughts go back to that night in the woods.

Wyatt looks up, seeing Jessie standing at the base of the stairs. His eyes catch hers and she smiles and he smiles back making his way toward her, he can't believe how much she had grown since the last time he had seen her. He picked her up off the floor swing her around as he embraced her.

"Jessie," he said full of excitement

"Oh, Wyatt, I've messed you so much"

He set her on her feet looking her over again.

"You have gotten dreadfully beautiful"

"You're a liar Wyatt Hunter, a flannel mouth lair at that" she smiled up at him

He shakes his head.

"Jessie, you never knew how to take a compliment"

"I'm glad you're home"

"I'm glad to be home, even if it is just for a couple of months"

She looks up at him, she had been hoping that he wouldn't have to go back.

"You have to return" her face shows her sadness

He smiles down at her

"Yes, but it won't be as long as this time just two weeks"

She smiles

"Good"

He thirds his arm though hers as they start waking.

"So have you been keepn' my little woman in line since I been gone"

"I haven't seen much of her around lately" She knew it was a lie but just a small one.

"I reckon' she's been busy huh"

"I guess so"

"Will what about you, little lady"

"Helping mama out around the house" She looked up into his eyes

He could see her fear, her pain.

"What is it, Jessie"

"It's papa, he's bad sick, Wyatt"

He hug's her to him

"I know, we'll be fine"

He kissed her forehead than smiled down at her.

"Anything else you been getting up too"

"Horseback riding and skinny dipping in the river"

He looks at her

"You better be careful skinny dipping, Jessie, one of them boys might catch ya"
