The week had gone by fast she hadn't seen Gabe again and didn't care much if she did. Caleb had walked her home every night and they talked about school days and what they had done after. She had learned that Caleb had opened up a shop in town and sold hardware, and he still helped his father out on the farm. Caleb was making a living for himself.
Saturday she stood in front of the floor mirror checking her figure. She wears a light blue dress that showed her carves. The neck line was low showing just the top of her plump breast. Smiling at her reflexion she turned to Theo who set watching his mommy dress up.
"So what do you think," she asked him
"Mommy you're so pretty," he says
She smiled
"Thank you, sweetie"
"Jessie," her mother says coming in the room "Caleb's here"
She looked at her mother, still a little nervous about today.
"Do I look ok?"
"You look lovely dear, go have fun"
"Will you and Theo be ok"
"We'll be fine, now get"
She hugged Theo than her mother and made her way to the front door. Caleb stood where jeans and a button-down shirt, he looked stunning and she had trouble tearing her eyes away from him.
"Hey", she says
"Hi you ready"
She smile
"Yes"
He takes her arm leading her out of the house.
"Where are we going?" she asked as they walked
"I thought we would go dancing"
"I can't dance"
"I bet you're still the best dancer in town," he tells her
She smiles, they go to a local saloon, and the place was crowded with people. Caleb led her to a far table in the corner and they set ordering them a bite to eat and some drinks. They talked about family and she told him about Theo and her mother.
"You want to dance," he asked after a while
"Yes"
He got up taking her hand he leads her to the dance floor. He whips her away off the dance floor spinning her around and holding her close. She was smiling and laughing, and it showed.
"You look beautiful tonight," Caleb says
She smile
"Thank you"
They were dancing slowly close together.
"I would like us to go out like this more often"
Her smile grew
"I think I would like that too"
He smiled down at her
He had saw them when they came in, dancing and talking. She smiled at him and laughed, he wanted nothing more than to go over and pull her out of here. But he would not cases a scene, he had watched them all week. The Blackwood boy courting her, walking her to work and back it angered him. She was his and soon she would know that.
Gabe made his way to her with a plan in his head.
"My I take this dance," he asked Caleb as he reached them
Caleb looked at Jessie and she nods
"I'll be back," he tells her
Gage puts his hand on her waist and pulls her close to him too close.
