Like he said, Wyatt and Daisy came home at the end of the mouth. Daisy was sick, so she spent her time lying in bed that gave Jessie time to spend with her big brother before him returning to Main. On the day of his departure, she stood by his horse as he mounted.

"I'll see you in two weeks, little lady."

"Be careful Wyatt" she smiles up at him

"I'll be back before you know it then maybe you'll tell me what's been bothering you so."

She looks at him, how is it he knows something's wrong with her, she waved him bye then went up to her room. Later that night she heard a commotion going to her door she peered out, her mother stood in the hallway in her gown she couldn't see her father. She goes out to see what it is.

"Mother what's wrong" She whispers

"Go back to bed Jessie everything fine."

She went back to her room but stayed to where she could hear what was being said. An hour or so later the doctor called, she could hear him and her mother in the hall.

"He's gone, Abigail."

"No, he can't be."

Her breath caught not her father he can't be dead.

"I'm sorry Abigail," the doctor says

She could hear her mother's cry, and she knew her father her papa was gone, she screams out as her knees give way and she falls to the floor. Her bedroom swings open and her mother and the doctor both rush in.

"Jessie" he mother calls cradling her in her arms

"Papa" she whispers

"Oh Jessie" she cries

Wyatt had got word and turned come back so he could bury his father. It was cold out when they bury him the rain beating down on them. Wyatt stood beside his mother and wife as they lowered his father into the ground, Jessie stood beside her mother look on, not at the spot where her father will spend eternity but passed that pass the group of mourners, her eyes blurred with tears; she was numb.

"Jessie come on" her mother whispered

She followed them down the road to their house, where they celebrated his death. She stands amongst them shaking hands, but she sees no one hears no one.

"Jessie goes on up to your room honey," Her mother says

"I'll take her ma'am," Andy says

He hates seeing her like this all day he wanted to run to her and just hold her but fear of what people would say held him at bay. Finally, he got his chance when Mrs. Hunter tried to get her to go up to her room, and she didn't budge.

"Thank you, Andy"

He tilts his head to her then grabbed Jessie arm leading her upstairs. She looked as if she was in a daze as they walked the hall to her room once inside she looked around as if it was all new to her then she looked up at Andy; he was so handsome.

"Andy" she sighed

"I know" he pulled her to him

Wrapping his arms around her

"I need you right now Andy."

He pulled away looking at her, oh no she's confused.

"No Jessie not right now" he shakes his head

"Yes now" she raises her voice

"No, you're confused, baby as much as I want you right now this is the wrong time."
