He watched as Jessie smiled and laughed as she talked to the Blackwood boy, anger growing deep in him. When she stood up, he pushed his self up from the stool he set on and staggered out the door, the night air hitting him. After her brother's death, she had ran, and so did Daisy. He had not heard a word from her since. But now Jessie was back, and he wanted her, and Caleb Blackwood better stay out of his way.

She worked hard, looking up at Caleb when she could. He remained at the corner table watching her when their eyes would meet they would smile then look away. Before midnight she washed down the counters then headed to the back to change.

Pulling her dress on, she hears the sound of movement. She freezes turning; she doesn't see anything.

"Hello," she says

Nothing, she finishes dress then heads to the front.

"I'm gone, Hank"

"Alright doll see you tomorrow night"

She smiles and waves, she gets to the front, Caleb stands up as she comes around.

"You ready," he asked

"Yes"

Taking her arm he led her out into the night.

"How long have you been back," Caleb asked as they walked

"I just got home last night"

She shivers against the cold

"Here," he says shrugging out of his coat

She looks down

"Caleb someone might see"

"Let them see"

She looks up at him, and she sees the desire in his eyes the same she has in hers. He places his coat on her shoulders and she smiles up at him.

"We should get together one night you know, have lunch or something," he says

"I would like that"

They stop as her house comes to view, both of them looking up at it. They both wanted more time just walking and talking.

"So do you know when you will get a night off?"

"Saturday"

He nods

"Then I'll come by and get you Saturday"

"Caleb"

"Please Jessie give me a chance"

She looks up at him with a smile

"I was going to tell you I have a son"

"Oh, are you and his father together"

"No, his father died"

"I'm sorry to hear that"

"Yes it was six years ago"

He looks down at her.

"Andrew" it's a question

"Yes"

"I didn't know you two where..."

She smiled

"No one did, it was our secret"

He put his arms around her, holding her against his hard chest.

"You lost so much in such a little time, I'm sorry Jessie"

She looks up at him though her lashes

"That means a lot to me"

Their eyes meet, she licks her lip.

"I better get in"

"I'll see you tomorrow night"

"Yes"

Her lips trembled with want, she had known Caleb all her life but had never felt what she felt around him now.

"Good night Jessie"

"Good night"

He releases her and she turns to go in looking back to see him still standing there. She smiles

The house is quite when she gets in she makes her way to the bed room and crawls under the covers.
