"Woah..."

"Sapphire look," May pulled me so the water was up to my legs. A shiny thing in the water, small rocks in front of if, "You're octopus mommy is inside."

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah."

"Hello octopus mommy," I back away when one of the rocks moved.

"It's okay, she's just coming to say hi," May held my hand.

Something came out, a redish-purple color. It was the octopus.

"You remember us," May picked it up, "Look, the toy you gave me turned into a boy."

"H-hello," I touched it and its arms wrapped around me.

"Aww~ Its hugging you," May said.

"Its nice. I like you too Mommy Octopus," I hugged her back.

"Lets go build a sand castle. Are you coming Mommy Octopus?" May helped me up, but Mommy was still holding me.

"I guess she is," I started walking to the sand with May, "How do I build a sand castle?"

"You but wet sand into the bucket and Mae sure there's a lot. Then you turn the bucket, pat it, and~"

"Oooh!" The sand was standing up by itself!

"You make a tower," she handed me the bucket, "Try it."

Copied what May did but the sand spilled out before I could flip it, "Huh?"

"I think you used too wet sand."

"Sand can be too wet?"

"Here, used the sand in this spot. It should work better," she filled the bucket. I flipped it over and it made a tower.

"Yay!" I made a tower!

"May! Lunch time!" Ashley called.

"Coming! I'll be right back Sapphire," May ran off to Ashley.

"I want to go- too..." May didn't hear me, "May!"

She waved and Ashley took her.

"May! Wait!" I could go after her, "Mommy you have to stay here," I put Mommy back into the water, "Bye bye! May!"

I ran after her but the car was already leaving.

"... May... C... come back..." I sat alone in the sand, I couldn't stop crying. I was all alone, no one was here.

"Hey, are you are alone sweetheart?" A lady in a red swimsuit wiped my eyes. I nodded, "Do you know where they went?"

"... ... l... lunch..." I told her, I has hiccups from crying.

"I'll wait for them here with you, okay? I'll tell them how bad it is to leave a child alone," she sat down and let me hug her.

"Sapphire!" May came back and hugged me, "Sorry, but the only places for lunch around here all said no pets."

"Are you the guardian in question?" The lady said.

"Um..."

"Abandoning a child, what is the mater with you? I ought to call social services next time I see this happen."

"Yes ma'am..."

"Sapphire, don't cry. We brought back lots of yummy food," May picked me up from the lady, "Look, fried squid."

I didn't want to let go. I didn't like being alone.

"I'm sorry," May hugged me, "I promise never to leave you again."

"Promise..."

"Promise."
