"Sapphire..."

"Sonic..."

Who are they... oh... they're calling me but... which one?

"Do they want me to wake up?"

"They're calling both our names, I can't believe them. They don't even care who shows up any more."

"I think they want you..."

"What makes you say that kid?"

"They always call me by your name, they want me to be you. So you should go. They don't want me..."

"You don't want to be a hero, I would have disappeared forver if Eggman hadn't gotten in the way."

"Does that mean I'll be gone forever?"

"..."

"That's okay... Just be nice to May."

"I will."

PoV: May

Sapphire was waking up, it had only been a day. He wasn't doing anything, not even sitting up.

"Sapphire," I called him, "Do you hurt somewhere?"

He looked my way, by he didn't say anything.

"Do you have something in your throat again?" I asked, "I'll ask Blaze of she can take you to the vet."

"Sonic..." Tails grabbed Sapphire's hand.

Sapphire looked away from us, he wasn't holding Tails's hand back. He didn't want to talk to anyone. They stopped trying, I stayed by Sapphire's side.

"Do you remember Mama octopus?" I asked him as the others kept talking in a group, "She gave you to me. Mr. Robot got you a toy of her." I picked up his toy and he took the toy from my hand, "She really loves you, I bet she misses you too."

"Hey..." he was talking again.

"You're taking again," I hugged him.

"Can I ask you something?" He still wasn't looking at me.

"Yeah," I could still smell the ocean on his fur, he needed a bath.

"Why did you pick me up back then?" He said something weird. This wasn't Sapphire...

"What do you mean? I always pick you up."

"Why did you take me from that octopus?"

"You looked lonely and special. I didn't want you to be a lonely toy, then you came you came to life and you were my friend."

"Sonic," Tails came back, "How are you feeling?"

"Like I never was to see water again."

  Sapphire loves water...

"You're back!" Tails hugged him as he sat up.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"... Look, I really appreciate you taking care of me all this time, Hana and Ashley too... My name is Sonic..." he wasn't Sapphire anymore... Sapphire was gone...

"Sonic! You got your memory back!"

  They all hugged and swarmed him. He was the Sonic person they all wanted him to be.
                                                                        
                                                                        
PoV: Sonic

  Saying that, that the person May named Sapphire was gone, I hated it. It was painful... was I happier that way?

  I could still remember everything Sapphire went through, it seemed like... being a little kid was something that made me happy... I should have been the one to disappear...

  May had walked away, my body was too sore to do much. Sitting up was a hassle.

"Sonic, I missed you so much," Amy wouldn't leave me alone.

  Hey... I think I need to be the one that goes...

  A day passed and all I got was gibberish from the others, May was quiet the entire time. I didn't even feel like my normal self with this haircut, this body, or these clothes. I started walking again and Metal seemed to be following me everywhere, which was weird. He didn't even attack me, he was helping me.

"Sonic, I need to talk to you," Knuckles too me to a privet room.

"Actually... I need to talk with you too," I hated this.

"I need you to stay with me," he grabbed my hands.

"What?" What did he mean by that?

"I just can't have you disappearing again," he explained, "I need you by my side at all times."

"I can't do that," I pulled my hands away, "And... I've made up my mind. I was happier when I knew nothing, when I knew no one... so..."

"So What? You're just going to leave with her. We're your friends, you can't!" Knuckles shouted.

"I think it would be better this way. And you guys can handle Eggman," I stepped away, "Just do me a favor and bring May back to her family."

"You're insane!" He shouted.

"It doesn't matter now," I backed away and turned to Metal, who was besides me.

"Sonic!"

"Metal," I grabbed his hand, and he took me to my old hut where we were in privet, "Wipe my memory."

"Wipe Memory... affirmative."

"Wait," I stopped him, "From now on, you will be loyal to Hana, Ashely, and May. You will loyal to me, when she renames me."

"Understood. Removing Sonic Team, Rouge, Shadow, Silver, and Blaze from loyalty data base. Adding Hana, Ashley, and May to loyalty data base."

"Protect them."

"Confirmed. Now, wiping memory of Sonic the Hedgehog."
                                                                        
                                                                        
PoV: Knuckles

"Does anyone know what Sonic and Metal went?" I yelled.

"No, why?" They all stared.

"The idiot is having his memory erased!" I explained.

"What?!" Amy grabbed, "Why would you let him do that!"

"Shadow take May home," Blaze ordered, "We'll find Sonic."

"Right," Shadow grabbed May and disappeared.

  We ran all over the place to find Sonic. He was no wear. The rest of the world still thought he was dead, we couldn't call for help. I found him in his old house... but it was too late... He was unconscious in Metal's arms.

"Metal give Sonic back to me," I ordered. He just flew past me, "Metal!"

  I chased after him, but the thing was too fast. I chased it to the ocean and it was gone... Sonic with it...
