PoV: Shadow

It had been another few weeks. I wasn't sure how many, but Tails was still attempting to crack the code into Metal's programming.

Metal only obeyed my orders since Eggman was out of commission. It took time, but eventually small time criminals were coming back into play not that Sonic was still thought to be dead.

"Shadow," Amy walked up to me, "Do you think this is wrong? Keeping The fact that Sonic is alive hidden away from the world. Isn't that wrong of us?"

"It was your choice to keep it a secret. I couldn't care less," I replied.

"Why did you tell us?" She asked.

"His chaos signature feels warped. I'm simply curious why," I replied.

"I'M IN!" Tails released the loudest scream I had ever heard.

We ran inside to find him crying and an open code into Metal's software.

"Tails, you solved it?" Amy asked as the others came in.

"We can finally get Sonic home," he started scrolling through the programming, "First I need to remove the code to kill Sonic."

Tails started working and saving each change he made. He even changed the password so he could access the program any time.

"Tails how long is this gonna take?" Silver asked.

"It doesn't matter now. Tails," Blaze shut the computer and picked up Tails who had bags under his eyes from working nonstop, "You should get some rest."

"I can't, I have to finish the code," he replied.

"Get some sleep so you can write the code perfectly. That way you don't accidently hurt Sonic with Metal," Blaze put him to bed and he fell asleep the moment his head hit the pillow.

"We're so close," Amy held Metal's hand, "Sonic will come back to me."

"I can't wait to see him again."

  If he's even the same person after being lost for so long.
                                                                        
                                                                        
PoV: May

"Sapphire!" I walked up to him as he was staking blocks into a tower. He looked at me with a smile. I held out the cupcake I was hiding, "Happy one month birthday!"

"A cupcake," he took it.

"You're one month old today," I hugged him, "Blow out the candle and make a wish."

"Really!" He was so happy he blew it out right away.

"What'd you wish for?"

"I wished to stay with you forever," he laughed.

"I wish that too," I pealed the paper off the cupcake for him, "Try it. I think you'll like it. Mommy got you the chocolate kind."

"It's good!" He got the frosting all over his face.

"Sapphire, you messy," I wiped his face.

"May, time to go to school- I told you to wait until tonight to give him a cupcake," Mommy said.
