I haven't seen Nicolas in a hot second, which is honestly just how I like it. For some reason, for the first few days that I didn't hear from him, I was really sad and disappointed that he didn't want to hang out with me. Then I realized that he's just a dumbass and probably has cooties or something, so I took myself out for ice cream and flirted with the ice cream attendant for a little bit, so then I felt better about myself. Pro tip ladies, if you are ever upset because of a man, or upset in general, take yourself out for ice cream and flirt with the attendant. 100% guaranteed to make you feel better by the end of your cone, or your money back.
Anyway, when I came to the apartment to brag to Tiffany about how I got the ice cream guy's number after flirting for less than fifthteen minutes, I saw a moving guys moving stuff into the apartment right next to Tiffany and my apartment. They look like they have just started so I quickly hurry back into my apartment and start baking cookies as a "welcome to the neighborhood" type gift.
As I hurry inside the apartment, I nearly run into Tiffany who is hurrying out of the apartment, and calling someone on her phone. As she is pressing the numbers I ask her if she knows who is moving next door.
"Don't know, don't care." She responds. Pressing her phone up to her ear, she begins to speak in rapid fire Japanese to whoever is on the other side as she hustles out of the apartment. I shrug and get ready to bake my cookies.
Thirty minutes later and I am standing outside of the new neighbor's apartment, furiously knocking on the door. I've been here for a solid five minutes and no one has even seemed like they noticed my knocks. At this rate I'll bust the door down before someone answers it.
After a while of knocking someone eventually hollars from inside the apartment "Come in, its unlocked!" I push the door open and am immediately greeted by a large cloud of marijuana smoke. Two guys are just sitting on a couch in the middle of the apartment, boxes piled all around them, smoking joints.
I wave the smoke away from my face as I walk into the apartment, setting down the cookies on the coffee table as I go. "Good lord, can you guys please just open a window or something?" I ask, opening all the windows in the apartment.
One dude, looks around at all the windows that I just opened and told me that they were already opened.
I sighed and pointed to the cookies on the coffee table. "Help yourselves, just return the plate when you are done. Welcome to the neighbourhood, my name is Evelyn Thomas, I live right next door, let me know if you need anything, enjoy your stay." I begin to hustle myself out of the apartment when another man walks through the door carrying pizza.
Not even noticing me, he calls out to all his mates, "Hey guys, I got the pizza. My dad made it special for us." I would recognize that voice anywhere. I had some serious flashbacks to highschool and shuddered, not my favorite memories, to be completely honest.
"Luca?" I asked into the smoke cloud. I was praying that it wasn't him, but knowing my luck it would certainly be.
"Evelyn?" He asked back, and I clenched my jaw. I can't believe that cheating bastard had the nerve to move in next to me. "What are you doing here?"
"Bringing welcome cookies, but seeing as you're one of the dumbasses moving in, I might take them right back."
"Hey, hey, hey, hey, don't do that." Moaned one of the guys on the couch. "They're so good. And I don't know what Luca has done but don't punish us for his wrongdoing."
Luca swore and made his way over to the couch angrily. "I swear to god, if this is what the Sinaloa Cartel is all about, smoking and doing drugs all day, then I will ensure that the Italian mafia has nothing to do with you lowlifes ever again."
