Rain's POV

Chicago weather is the worst. I checked the weather this morning only to be met with disappointment. It's going to be in the low fifties today. It was literally 73 degrees yesterday this makes no fucking sense.

I love my city but this weather is irritating. It goes from a sunny day to snowing the next day.

Walking over to my closet I grabbed my light blue jeans and my light blue vans and a black shirt. I pair it with a light blue jacket. Most of the time I grab whatever when I'm getting dressed but today I actually want to look nice for some reason.

And then I put Luke's jacket in my backpack so I can remember to give it back to him. Hopefully I remember.

I grabbed my phone to text Gray.

wya

i'm omw to the bus stop

hurry up !!!!!

When she doesn't respond in the 0.000021 seconds I gave her to respond a hint of annoyance washes over me. So I opt to walk to the bus stop and just meet her there thinking she was probably running late.

Reaching the bus stop, I see that it's just me and two other people. A short Asian lady with a newspaper in her hand and a Hispanic lady pushing a cart.

The asian lady's newspaper is in Mandarin. I wish I spoke Mandarin. It's a beautiful language.

I text my mom that I'm at the bus stop before exiting my messages and going on to the transit app. The bus is coming in 7 minutes.

A slight breeze was in the air so I zipped up my jacket. I put my headphones, wires resting on my chest and slid my phone into my pants pocket.

I felt a cold arm snake around my neck and pull me into a back hug. I smelled the vanilla and brown sugar instantly. My arms immediately come up to make the hug last longer.

I paused my music as she walked to stand next to me.

"Sorry, I wasn't answering. My mom was lecturing me and Blue about cleaning the kitchen. She took longer than I expected her to." Gray says eyes distant for a moment.

"Yeah, I was wondering where you were. You're normally here first," I say chuckling.

Then, I notice that she isn't wearing a jacket. At all. And she has shorts on. Literal shorts. Does she know how cold it's supposed to get?

"Where's the rest of your outfit?" I say brazenly.

"If the fit is hot, I'm not cold," She says winking at me. This bitch is dumb as hell.

"You know it's gonna be like in the fifties later right?" I ask picking at a hang nail on my ring finger.

"Yeah I brought a jacket just in case, but I wanted to look cute today." She says with a smile on her face.

"For who?" I ask still picking at the hang nail. It's been bothering me for a few minutes.

"Why does it have to be for someone else, why can't I just dress nice for myself?" She asks, as her anger threatens to come out.

"I was kidding chill, you look nice," I say trying to diffuse the situation before she gets mad at me.

"Thanks," She replies curtly.

I spot the orange LED lights a few blocks down. The big 52 comes into close range as we walk closer to the curb.

The only thing that bothers me about this bus is that it only comes every fifteen minutes. If we missed it, we would be so late to school.
