(A/N) I am so sorry for taking forever to update. I didn't forget about the book, I have just been very busy.

Luke's POV

I got up, wiped my eyes and left the bathroom. Zion followed in my stead as we made our way to class. We were both severely late and would most likely be getting demerits but it's whatever. Prioritizing my mental health over everything else is always the right decision to make.

The next two periods were a blur. I fucking hate emotions. Why do they even exist? I could be so much more efficient if I didn't have emotions. They get in the way of EVERYTHING. There's no point in them existing.

Volleyball practice was a blur as well. Probably cause I'm still fucking out of it. I hate when this happens. Anxiety really sucks.

Noah taps me out of my stupor. His forehead is still shiny from practice.

"Is Kamryn here yet?" He asks.

Oh my fucking shit. I was so worried about Rain that I didn't even text him. It's already 4:35 and if I text him now he won't be here until 5:00 because of traffic.

How did I completely forget to do one thing? And it was the simplest thing at that. All I had to do was text Kamryn. I had one job and I couldn't even do that.

"I forgot to text him, my bad," I reply shaking my head. A few droplets of sweat drip down the sides of my face. I need to shower badly.

"We can just take the bus then right?" Noah asks walking towards the exit.

I pretend to stretch and do a quick smell check. I'm not musty thank god this deodorant really hit different after a long day.

We leave out the front entrance of the school and make our way to the lawn. It's still freezing but practice warmed us up a lot.

"Yeah it shouldn't take us more than 30 minutes to get there," I say speeding up as I see Jaime and the gang. They're waiting by the trees we ate lunch by today.

"So what's the plan?" Timothy asks, looking up from his phone.

"I forgot to text Kamryn so we're just gonna take the bus to my house." I say to the group.

I take my phone out of my backpack and send my mom a quick text that I'm on my way. I'm surprised she didn't text me first, but she's probably busy watching TV.

"How much does it cost again?" Cole asks.

"It's 75 cents." Jaime responds.

Cole takes his backpack off and sets it on the ground. Then he starts rummaging through the different zippers and pockets for change.

"I can pay for you dude," Timothy says raising his eyebrows.

"Do you have a ventra?" Noah asks scrolling through Insta.

"No, I get dropped off and picked up. And I have some change I just need to look for it." He replies frantically searching his wallet.

Zion walks up to me. She was chatting with Jaime which isn't unusual. She's the closest to him in our little group besides me.

"Hey, Igloo," She says putting a hand on my shoulder.

I want to warn her that I'm sweaty and shirt is wet but she should know better. Considering we just came from practice she should know better.

"Are you feeling better?" She asks with a serious tone.

"Yeah, thanks to you." I say before wiping the sweat off of my forehead onto her hand.
