Luke's POV

(seconds after the last chapter ended off.)

Why the fuck did I say that? I sounded like a complete creep. Shit, she's gonna think I'm weird. I need to stop opening my mouth.

I walk back over to the table to see some smiles and laughs directed towards me.

"Is that her?" Noah asks as I scooted back to my spot in the booth.

"Yeah, that's her," I say suddenly getting red and flustered. I look to make sure she and her friends have already left before I make a bigger fool of myself.

"She's dummy thicc Luke," Jasper comments which warrants him a high five from Timothy and Cole.

I was aware of her dummy thicc status and have had that thought a few times on my own but who is he to talk about her like that? That's my crush.

"Jasper what the fuck man, we don't objectify women," Noah says crossing his arms.

"I was stating the obvious, everyone was thinking it but I was just confident enough to say it out loud," Jasper replies.

"But you didn't need to say it out loud is my point," Noah says before dropping it.

"She's really pretty, Luke," Jaime says finally speaking.

"I know, and I ..." I start.

"SIT NEXT TO HER IN CHEM, " They all finish for me.

"We know," Cole says.

"Yeah she's all you've talked about for the past three weeks," Jaime adds.

Timothy, who is to my left hasn't spoken the entire time. He's normally talkative but today he's silent because he's stuffing his face with Jasper's fries.

"What, I don't think so," I respond holding my jacket closer to keep her scent near me. I don't want them knowing what heaven smells like.

"Are you smelling your jacket? What the fuck man!" Jasper asks.

"I let her wear it yesterday and it smells like her." I say taking sniffing it again.

"Ask her out already, god," Cole interjects as he discreetly steals a fry from Jasper. I don't think he knows I saw that.

I can't ask her out. I just can't. What if she's dating someone or what if she doesn't date outside of her race? I don't want to set myself up for failure. It would break me if I asked her out only to be rejected.

The table notices I've gotten quiet so they start to talk about other things.

Rain won't ever see me the way I see her, I just know it. Asking her out would ruin everything we've built this past month and I can't do that over some stupid crush. I just can't.

I open the wrapper on my chicken sandwich and put it in what I hope was an empty bag.

Timothy taps me on my shoulder so that he can whisper something to me.

"I have seventh period with her, I could ask around to see if she likes anyone," He says nonchalantly.

My hand runs through my hair a few times before resting on the back of my phone. My first chicken sandwich is gone so I open the second one to finish it.

"You'd do that for me?" I ask wiping mayo off of the corner of my mouth.

"Yeah Luke, of course. People just tell me things you know, since I don't talk that much, so yeah I can find out if she likes someone." He says proudly.
