The last chapter was just a little peek into Luke's past. Just wanted to add some background to create another layer. This chapter picks up right where chapter 8.5 left off so there is no confusion. Luke confesses to Rain in that chapter and is waiting for her response.
Rain's POV
"The girl I like is right here," Luke says pointing to me with a hopeful look on his face.
What in the entire fuck? Luke actually oh likes me back. He can't possibly like me back. Why the fuck does he like me back? Oh my fucking god.
I looked back up at him which I shouldn't have. His cheeks immediately turned pink and we both looked away.
Wait a minute. He asked me about what he should've done about Kayla a whole month ago. He's liked me for a fucking month? Oh shit. That's a long ass time.
For the second time in my entire life a boy likes me. How is it that I find out two boys like me in the same day? Fuck my life. This is too much to handle. My fucking crush likes me back oh my god.
Am I even allowed to be this happy? When there are so many bad things going on in the world. Especially since Isaac is going through a lot at the moment. Can I even be happy right now?
If I was a lighter shade I would definitely be red as of now. I want to smile so fucking hard right now but he's right there. I take some deep breaths before responding.
"Well, the girl you like," I pause staring down at my fingers. "Likes you back."
That felt good to finally say that. I didn't think I would ever have the opportunity to let him know how I feel.
"She does?" He asks sounding shocked. I feel the vibrations as he taps his foot against the leg of the desk.
My dumbass turns to peek at him and he has the biggest smile on his face. I can just feel how happy he is. He is literally radiating happiness. Damn I think I just looked into the sun.
"Yeah she does," I repeat still looking at him.
"Well that's great cause I've been wanting to ask her out for a few days now, but I was sure she didn't feel the same." He says putting his phone down.
"Oh word? Of course I'll go out with you." OH SHIT HE ASKED ME OUT. THAT REALLY JUST HAPPENED. Wow I might just die of happiness right now!
My heart starts to beat faster with anticipation for his next words. I don't even know the fucking protocol for being asked out. Am I being too eager or am I being too nonchalant? Oh my fucking god this is confusing.
"Someone's excited, I haven't even asked yet." He chuckles. "But it's good to know that the answer is already yes." He replies sheepishly.
"Of course I'm excited," I say rolling my eyes at him.
"Not only are you the first boy to ever ask me out ever, but have you even seen you. You're fucking adorable." He turns to face me and this time I don't look back down at my hands.
Luke is one of those cute Asians who has a dash of handsome up his sleeve. His hair is getting a little longer and he looks hot. But when it's short he's looks so fucking cute. I like it better long, cause if I ever get a chance to run my fingers through his hair it's better if it is long.
"Umm, I don't know if you know this. But you're really fucking cute. And the fact that all this time you've been talking about the girl you like and I find out it's me. Do you not understand that I've never been this happy before?" I say feigning annoyance. This dude really just blew me.
"Wow, that was a lot." He says blushing. Again. I didn't even think that my melanin prince could even get that fucking red, considering he's a few shades darker than some of the other East Asians. But he really manages to do it anyways.
The fact that it's slight and doesn't even take over his entire face is what makes it even cuter. Its just his cheeks and I might just pass out. It's like you have to look really closely at him to even see it. I hope I'll have the chance to look at him more closely from now on.
"There's more where that came from," I respond and then try my best at winking. Hopefully it worked out. I don't wink that much on a daily basis anyways so I probably look stupid. But that doesn't matter.
Cause he likes me.
Luke puts his hood on, zips his jacket jacket, and pulls the drawstrings super tight until his face just disappears. And then he doesn't speak for a few moments.
"Hey, you good homie?" I ask jokingly. Suddenly, the nervousness somehow left my body. After, confessing to each other I feel like there's nothing to be embarrassed about.
A few seconds later, I believe he realized how ridiculous he looked because he took his hood off all of a sudden. Which cause his hair to go wayward before he started fixing it. I wanted to fix it for him but we're just not there yet.
He started off in a whisper, "Rain, that was precious. I need a minute to process this. You literally are so precious. What the fuck. Stop it." And ends with hiding his face in a heads up seven up pose.
Amanda clears her throat. I look up to see her and Reese staring at us. For the first time neither of them are wearing their airpods.
"Did y'all really just do that? Right in front of my salad?" Reese asks causing me to laugh for a whole minute. Only real ones know where that comes from.
