Chapter 25

Zeke pov

Its been about a week and I've moved on I have better things to worry about honestly like paying rent. I really need to get money for this month. So I was scanning the job board. "Zeke!" said Laxus. I turned around in surprise Laxus never talks to me. "Me and the Raijinshuu need your help." "Me?" Laxus and his team needing my help? This must be some kind of impossible mission. "Yeah, I have to help my old man's friend with his restaurant. We need a 4th waiter since Freed cooks and you look like your doing nothing." Dang it, I was hoping for like an epic quest or something not being a waiter. I guess I don't have a choice I need the money and none of these jobs look like they're worth it. "Okay, thanks."

When I walked with them to the restaurant it was silent almost the whole time. Except for when Bicklow occasionally breaking the silence. I wonder what (Y/n)'s doing right now. Then I began to cringe at the thought of her being with Tarek.

When we got to the restaurant I put on my waiter uniform and began to wait people as fast as I could. I have to admit working with Laxus and his team was pretty fun. They may be serious but they made doing the job enjoyable. I tried my best friendly tone to get lots of tips. "Hello, Sir what would you like to eat today?" I say with an over-exaggerated smile. "Umm, I'm deciding between the burger and the fried rice. Which one do you think is better?" "Ummm I would go with the fried rice." I had eaten neither, but I'm sure neither was bad. "Then I think I'll go with that, thanks." "I'll have that out right away then." 

Then I gave them their food that Freed made and that's how it basically went all day.  At least I was getting good tips and at I think I'm on Laxus' good side.

(Y/n) pov

I was walking to Sabertooth to surprise Tarek. I was thinking we could go out to eat.

I walked into Saber and asked Minerva if she had seen Tarek. She said that he probably had gone on a job with Sting and Rogue. Of course he always out. "I think he'll be back soon though they picked an easy job." "I'll wait till they get back." I sat at one of the tables there and waited. I talked to Minerva for awhile and eventually, Tarek came back with Sting and Rogue.

"Hey!" I said excitedly. "Hey! What are you doing here?" "I thought I'd surprise you," I say with a smile. He gave me a hug. "I was thinking we could go out to eat." "Yeah! Do you have an idea of where?" "Umm... I thought you could pick." "Fine... Umm, there was a restaurant where they only have people who are wizards work. Want to go there?" "Sure, they lots of times have people from our guild work there, even I have sometimes. Maybe we'll see some fellow guildmates,"

When we walked to the restaurant I was excited to go out with Tarek. It had been at least a week since I had seen him. Even though it was just a week I really did miss him. I also haven't seen Zeke in a while. I wonder what he's been doing? There must be a lot of jobs that they need him for after all his power is like no other wizard in fairy tail.

Zeke pov

Two more guests can through the door. "Hello, welcome to.." then I got a better look at them. "Zeke!" Said (y/n) excitedly. She pulled my head down and gave me a noogie. "I thought you were not going on impossible jobs but you're just here. Are Natsu and the rest here?" "No, I'm here with Laxus and his team." "Woah Laxus wanted you?!" I kind of forgot how excited she got over dumb things like this. "Yeah, I know right!" 

"Hey, Zeke," Tarek said. "Hey..." Ugh, right he's here. "Is it just you two?" I asked returning to my waiter demeanor. "Yeah." "Okay, I'll take you two to a booth." I walked them over to a booth in the worst stop of the restaurant. Okay maybe I'm a little salty, but that's normal...right? "Can we move somewhere else?" Asked Tarek. "Sorry, unfortunately, all the other tables are reserved." A lie, "Okay, it's fine then." He said. He's so annoying like for once just don't be happy.

I was forced to come back to their table for a drink order, but of course not before some good'ld eavesdropping. 'I bet you want to get rid of him' the voice said. 'Haven't heard from you in a while' I say. Like I said 'I only come when you need me.' 'Right, I don't want to kill him just have them break up I means if pushing him over a cliff is what it takes then...' 'Do it!'

'Woah, woah that was a joke! I'm over her that names mean nothing to me.' 'But it does and you know it.' the voice continued. 'No, stop it! Shut up so I can listen.' "Zeke is so funny one time when we went on a mission we pranked Natsu..." She's...she's talking about...me! 'Who am I kidding I miss hanging out with her and I'm not over her.' 'Told you.' 'And now at the ripe old age of 15, I'm at the point of my life where the only friends I talk to is the voice in my head and my cat. Honestly, I don't just miss talking to her it's everyone too.' My pettiness turned to sadness for the person I'd become. All over something so dumb. No matter what I say though I can't get over her.

I had to grow up though and take their order, someone had to. "What drink were you thinking about having?" (Y/n) began to speak. "Wait let me guess (favorite drink)." "Yeah, of course, you know me so well." She said. "I knew you liked it too." Added Tarek. I just ignored him. Then I turned to him "So what do you want?" I say bluntly. "I'll just have water thank you." "Okay that's great," I say coldly on purpose. "I'll have those right out." I gave Tarek a fake smile and then (y/n) I gave a sincere smile. Then walked away.

Tarek pov

When I tried to talk to Zeke, he just ignored me. I know his hearing abilities, he heard me. He's starting to annoy me not to mention the obvious flirting. I guess I'll let it slide. He can't be petty all the time. Plus (y/n) likes me and that's all I need. I looked over at her and she was smiling.
  
Then Zeke came out with our drinks and we ordered. He was a little more normal this time. Sometimes I question if he was the one who threw the rock.

(Y/n) pov

I was so glad I was able to see Zeke again! It was nice to finally see each other again. I didn't realize how much I missed him, but he didn't seem to really be himself today. After we ate we tipped paid and left.

Zeke pov

When I got home. I really thought about what I just did I'm not over her at all. I probably have fallen more for her than before. Then I thought about how I acted. What did I just do? I seem to be saying that a lot lately.
