Chapter 28

Zeke pov

"Come on everyone let's get this job started!" "What's the pay?" asked Erza. "10 million jewels!" "10 million?!" "Yeah, I couldn't believe it either. Between all of us, that's 1,666,666.66667 each!" "I didn't take you for someone that was good at math," said Gray. "I didn't know I was either, but I guess I am," she said with a bright smile. Then Tarek began to open his mouth. "Actually..." I put my hand over his mouth before he could say anything and gave him a glare. I dragged him behind the group slowly so no one would notice.

"What the heck!" "What?" he said confused. "You were going to say something about how she was trained to basically be a human calculator." "Yeah, but..." "But what!?" "How much have you told her!" "Nothing I swear! You don't need to talk so aggressively, and you can let go of my shirt! You know you and I aren't so different." I let go of his shirt. "You and me will never be the same." "Woah what's with that? Calm down." Nope I'm not doing this again. The whole point of this is to be better."You're right sorry, I just haven't been myself lately." "Hey, it okay man I know I probably am I reminder of things you want to forget, but it doesn't have to be like this. You, me and (y/n) could all be friends." "I'm sure I'm just a reminder too. I'm sorry I really misjudged you. Let's go back before they notice, just don't mention anything about it to her, I know it can be hard to remember even I have forgotten and slipped up." "Yeah," 

When we walked back I realized that he was extremely nice and if this is the guy (Y/n) likes then so be it. I can honestly see why, she deserves to be with him, not an emotional wreck like me.

Gray pov
"...Don't you agree, Zeke?" said (y/n). No response. "Zeke?" We turned around. "Where's Zeke and Tarek?" "Oh no we need to find them right away!" If Zeke fought Tarek he doesn't stand a chance! I don't not even Erza! I can sense his magic power and when he fought Natsu it's obvious he wasn't even trying. (Y/n) you're a dragonslayer can you follow their sent?" "Yeah, of course, I feel dumb." We all followed her and then we ran into Tarek and Zeke. I was prepared for everyone to try and calm down Zeke, but they were talking together and laughing. Maybe he really did apologize I'm suprised they both don't want to kill each other. "Where did you guys go?" I asked. "We just got a little sidetracked," said Tarek. 

"Come on you two we need to hurry up if we want to make it before night. Honestly, though it's great to see you two getting along I was worried at first." said (y/n) energetically.  She jumped up and put her arms around both of their shoulders. They both squatted down so she could touch the ground. "Hey I'm not that short!" she said punching them both in the arm. "You'll get used to it." I heard Zeke say to Tarek. 

When we got to the town the address said the requester was in I was confused on why one was out. "Why is it empty and its pitch black here?" said Zeke."I don't know, I don't know why a key would cause an enter town to be empty." "I don't see any sign of destruction are we too late?" asked Tarek. "No a job with a reward like that would be taken the day it was put up," said Erza. "Maybe the requestor could shed some light on this." "Literally and figurately," I said. (Y/n) lit her hand on fire here "This should help. It's not even that late."  "What's the address?" asked Erza. "I don't think we need it to let's just go to the only house with lights on."

We went up and knocked. The lights turned off suddenly. Then I saw the curtains peel back and I saw a pair of eyes look through it. "Everyone get behind me and Erza. I knew 10 million jewels was too good to be true." "My Gray-sama is so brave," said Juvia. "I can hear the backdoor opening." said (y/n) scared. "This is starting to freak me out... I CAN HEAR FOOTSTEPS!" "Hello," I called, no response. "They're getting closer!" "We are wizards of Fairy Tail we are not afraid to fight if this is a trap, you picked the wrong people!" Boomed Erza. She sounded ten times more intimidating than me.  "Requip! Clear Heart Clothing!" She held out her sword. "(Y/n) where are the footsteps coming from?" "The right." "Come with me, to light up the way." "Oh...kay.." She reluctantly followed.

(Y/n) pov

When I went with Erza I was practically crapping my pants. I knew I didn't have anything to fear with Erza, but my paranoia was getting to me. "Then I saw a pair of green eyes and I let out a blood curtailing scream. Erza began to charge. "NOO! Stop! I mean no harm!" Erza stopped her sword an inch in front of his neck. "(Y/n)!" Everyone said running over to us. "It's okay," I say. "Erza is handling this." "You have 10 seconds to explain what you were doing before you are killed." She said seriously. "I don't mean harm, there have been several attacks so I don't open my front door." He pleaded 

"Why didn't make yourself known and instead decided to sneak up behind us?" "I didn't know who you were like I said there have been several attacks I'm afraid they'll come back. Now I see you guys are wizards. Please come in, I'll explain, inside it's rather cold out here." "We'll follow just give us a second to collect our stuff," said Erza in a slightly less serious voice."

We walked back out front. "Look," she said in a hushed tone. "This guy is shady. I don't know if we can trust him. If he does anything suspicious do not hesitate to defend yourselves. Especially Zeke, your power exceeds all of ours. We have no idea if this is all a trap, don't take anything from him, no matter how much he insists. Got it especially Gray and Juvia, we need to make sure the kids are okay, especially Tarek." "Got it," They said. "I'm honored that you guys want to defend me, but even though I primarily use support and healing magic I can defend myself," said Tarek. "Regardless you are a child and not a member of Fairy Tail, so I will do everything in my power to make sure you are safe." Obviously, Tarek didn't object. Even though he didn't know her well he knew not to mess with her. 

We walked into the house. The lights were all turned off and it was so silent you could hear a pin drop. "Hello?" called Gray.
