After auntie ripped that horrible excuse of a man a new one, all I wanted was to hug her and tell her how fucking awesome she was. But I didn't, not the time as place. Didn't change the fact that she was amazing.

We waited for a few hours and everyone could see the energy drain out of auntie's exhausted body. She kept dozing off in her chair, which made Leo and D exchange worried glances amongst them.

It looked like they could communicate without even speaking. I was a tiny bit jealous of them, seeing as I could never have that. They were both perfect. They looked like they could feature in the cover of a Gay magazine together and fangirls would lose their shit over it. I sighed and looked away, and my eyes connected with Jude's.

Fuck me, but he was beautiful. He could be on the cover of any mag and I'd lose my shit over it. Even though he looked a tiny bit thinner and scruffy, it didn't really do anything to fade his undeniable glamour. He looked at me intently, but his face was weirdly expressionless. His eyes were unreadable, but they still managed to send chills down my spine. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't look away.

Fortunately, Leo decided to call Jude out of pinning me down with his gaze and he looked towards his brother. I heaved a sigh of relief and my eyes found Divit looking at me with curious eyes. When I looked at him, he smiled a sad but genuine smile at me which immediately warmed my heart. That guy had a thing about making you feel better.

I looked at the two brothers to see them whispering to each other. I couldn't hear them because I was sitting on the other side of the corridor on a metal chair. While the family rested on the long, beige, depressing couch at the other side. I watched as Jude nodded at something Leo said and turned to his right where auntie was resting and gently woke her up. She opened her eyes and squinted them immediately against the bright white light of the corridor. Then I heard Jude speak in a low but clear voice.

"Maa, it's late. Let's get you to my apartment and you can get some rest. Leo will call us if they need us." He said but auntie resolutely shook her head.

"I'm not going anywhere." She said and sat back with a huff. My lips tilted up in a small smile. She sometimes behaved so much like my best friend, it was endearing. I hauled my body from the chair and across the small distance that separated us. When I reached, Leo and Jude were still trying to reason with her but she didn't listen.

"Hey, auntie." I softly said as I dropped down to my knees in front of her. She looked into my eyes for a moment before hers teared up.

"I don't want to leave him, babu." She said and my throat swelled up at that. But I powered through it.

"You're not. You're just getting a bit of rest now, so that when he wakes up, you look perfect for him." I said and stroked her hand. It felt like a mother's touch.

She smiled at my words but still shook her head.

"I want to be here when he wakes up." She said and I smiled at her.

"You will. Leo will call us if uncle wakes up, and we'll get you here and you'll see him first. I promise." I told her and gave her my best damned puppy eyes.

"You sure?" She asked, her determination crumbling. Win!

"Yes. And we'll be gone for just a couple of hours, we'll be back soon." I told her and she smiled.

"Okay then, but only for a bit." She said and I smiled up at her and then Jude. His eyes were now shining with another unknown but overwhelming emotion that left my stomach fluttering and my breathing escalated. He looked at his brother and spoke in his deep and clear voice.
