I was driving down the road when it happened. Faiyaz suddenly squealed and begged me to stop the car.

"What's wrong, Kitten?" I asked in a confused voice. He looked so excited.

"Kitten." He answered while smiling broadly.

"Huh?" What was he even talking about?

"There's a kitten. Over there." I was trying to look at where he was pointing but he was already out of the car.

"Baby wait." I killed the engine and followed him hurriedly. My boyfriend ran down the road into what seemed like a dumpster and picked up what looked like a ball of filth. I scrunched up my nose.

"Ew, what's that," I said and he glared at me. I looked at what he was holding so close to his chest and sure enough, there was a mud-covered tiny, breathing creature purring in his arms.

"Damn, it's tiny," I whispered, as if afraid to scare it with my voice.

"Yeah," Faiyaz whispered back while stroking its coated fur. Love shining in his eyes. He really liked cats.

"Can we take it home? I miss Oli, I really want a cat. Please can we, Sky?" He pulled that cute little kitty face he knew I couldn't refuse. If I was being honest, I was happy he wanted to parent a pet with me. It was another step in the right direction.

" Yes, we can." I smiled and he beamed so broadly that I thought my heart stopped pumping.

"We can't take him to meet Rudy. Can you drop me off at home so I can wash him up and give him some food?" He was rambling on by himself. It was honestly too cute to watch. So I swooped down for a quick kiss that left him breathless.

"Sure," I smirked. And he blushed.

"Asshole." He muttered. As we were walking down to the car again.

"Only yours babe." I smiled.

Judy was smirking at me. That little shit.

"It's nice to see you so domesticated bro." He flashed me a shit-eating grin before taking a sip of his coffee. Then he smiled again. I sighed. Thinking if telling him about my relationship was a wise choice.

"Whatever. It's good to see that you've been well too." I smiled. He was looking better too. Not like the ghost of a human I was used to seeing. He seemed healthier and fresher.

"Yeah, it's been going well. The people here are really nice. It's weird because I never thought I'd feel a sense of belonging anywhere. But I feel it here of all places." He sat back on his chair as his phone dinged with a text. I bought him one when I left him here so I could keep in touch with him. I was happy he was using it. His face lit up with a smile when he read the text.

"Whoa, who's that?" I asked, smirking. Rudy's face reddened a little as he put his phone facedown on the table.

"Nobody." He mumbled.

"Nobody?" I snorted, "Nobody made you smile like that? C'mon man. Was it that guy from the other day? What was his name?" I tried to remember.

"Rishi. Yes." He mumbled, looking more embarrassed by the second.

"You like him?" I asked and he shook his head violently.

"No. No, I don't. Please don't ask weird questions." He said with a pleading voice and rubbed his arm.

"Okay okay, I'm sorry. Please calm down. I didn't mean to intrude." I didn't want him to get agitated. After a few minutes, he calmed down and spoke again.
