Six months later-
Afterward I found myself trying to look out for Saeyoung and Saeran at church every Sunday. Sadly, I haven't seen them once since we parted from having ice cream that day. In fact so many things changed... V and Rika slowly drew away, and haven't been coming around to visit.
My father explained to me that it was in my best of interests for me to forget about them and focus on my work. Like I needed his opinion...
Today was different. As I exit the cathedral I notice Saeyoung within the crowd of people. I immediately rushed forward bumping into people reaching out to Saeyoung's sleeve. He turned with surprise that's when I noticed that he had grown taller since the last time I saw him.
"Saeyoung" I huffed out catching my breath for a moment. "Y/n?" "Sorry for reaching out like that" I stand up straight pulling my hand away from Saeyoung's sleeve. Peering around Saeyoung I noticed that Saeran was no where in sight. "I'm so glad to see you" I stated with a smile "but where's your brother Saeyoung?"
The area around the church has finally become empty leaving Saeyoung and I alone. "I...." Saeyoung looked away with a downcast expression "I haven't seen you two in awhile so I'm kinda happy, but I'm a little sad since your brother isn't here. I really wanted to tell him about somethings I learnt." The wind blew gently past us ruffling our hair causing us to shiver. I observed Saeyoung closely, he appeared to be bothered by something. Even though his eyes look bright there was something dull about them.
"Saeyoung is everything okay?" He moved his gaze back to me. "Oh, ya. Sorry if I'm making you worry. I'm fine. I'm just tired today. Actually, call me Luciel from now on" I tilt my head to the side slightly confused "Luciel? Did you change your name?" I questioned he nodded in response.
Suddenly "Luciel" turned and approached the bench that sat under a lonesome tree near the church. I followed after taking a seat next to him "so you changed your name... how long ago?" "Not long after we last saw each other. I decided to change to my baptismal name rather my birth.... try not to tell anyone of my real name" "ok... " I swing my legs back and forth a heavy feeling weighing down on my chest. For some reason I felt extremely sad.
"Y/n, I wanted to ask you something. I want to hear what you think" looking towards Luciel I watch as he takes a heavy breath before speaking. "If you had to make a decision to save someone you care about would you do anything to save that person?" Luciel's question came to me as a shock. It was strange and I didn't exactly understand what he meant, but I still decided to answer.
"Well, I'd try to save them the best I could. Even if it hurts me in some way I'd still try to make that difference in their world. I'm not trapped so I can always recover myself no matter how hurt I am, but the other may not be able to do that. So yes. I'd do anything for them." Luciel turns his head towards me finally making eye contact "we think similarly. I bet you were thinking of V while saying that" I tilted my head back with a smile upon my face "you got me."
I look out towards the sky. The wind was mild today and the sky was cloudy, light was no where in sight. The gloominess was strangely starting to take affect on me as well. I sit forward my hair falling over my face gently flowing with the breeze. A single drop of water splashes against my hand. It was going to rain soon. I press my lips together and pull my hair back so Luciel could see my face.
"V hasn't been coming around lately. So I've been feeling in solitude. Bare with me for a moment..." I state holding my hand over my mouth trying to study my breathing. "Everything appears to be changing exceptionally quick. I'm watching everything turn before my eyes. It feels strange.... complicated even." I glance out the corner of my eye to see Luciel watching me intently.
