One of Them

Chapter 4

"Hey guys!" Grimm shouted as he walked through the door. "We're back!"

"Ooh! Did you bring the new kid?" Someone asked. Then a boy with shaggy ebony hair, eager pale blue eyes, and was wearing a white jacket and white sweatpants walked through the door of one of the bedrooms onto the balcony. But the door wasn't open when he walked through it, instead he just passed right through the door. Burst recognized him instantly as Sprite.

"Sprite's parents were scientists that worked with radioactive materials. One day, they decided to take Sprite with them and show them what they do. But during an experiment, there was an explosion. The radiation from the explosion put Sprite into a coma for three months, but when he was asleep, an unusual change came over him. His brain became able to change the particles in his body, allowing him to pass through solid objects. After he woke up, he got up and passed right through the wall when he walked out of the room. His parents saw this, and wanted to do tests to find out how their son was able to do this. The tests were painful, and made it hurt to move. But one day, a boy with extremely pale skin, white hair, and red eyes broke into the lab. He found Sprite, and escaped from the lab with him. Sprite became one of the Specter Gang later that day."

Sprite passed through the floor of the balcony and landed on his feet, he ran over to the group. "So who'd you find?" He asked. "Can he shoot lasers out of his eyes? What does he do?"

"Actually, I'm a girl." Burst said. "I can run super fast and I'm unusually strong."

When Sprite saw Burst, his jaw basically hit the floor. "Wow," he said. "She's hot."

Burst felt her cheeks warm up a little bit. Venom grinned when he saw this. "Aw," he said. "That's so cute!"

Burst rolled her eyes and pushed him away from her. "Where's Piccolo?" She asked, realizing that she hadn't seen him yet.

"He can be a bit shy," Ivory said. "He's probably hiding in his room."

Ivory walked upstairs and knocked on the door that was left of the staircase. "Yo, Pic!" He said. "We found a new Specter, you need to meet her."

"Her?" Pic asked from behind the door. "I thought all Specters were guys."

The door opened, and a boy wearing a blue hoodie, jeans, and black gloves peered out of the room. Burst couldn't see his face because it was hidden by the hood and black mask he was wearing, all she could see were his timid hazel eyes.

"Very little is actually know about Piccolo, except that nobody has ever seen his face and that he plays a small flute that can do various things: put people to sleep, control plants and animals, and other unknown things. He is also known to be very shy and is one of the Specter Gang."

Pic slowly walked down the stairs towards the group, but he stopped when he got to the bottom.

"C'mon Pic," Ivory said. "She's not going to bite you."

Pic hesitated, then walked up to Burst. "H-Hello." He stuttered, holding out his gloved hand. "I'm P-Piccolo, b-but you may call me Pic."

Burst smiled and shook his already trembling hand. "I'm StarBurst." She said. "But you may call me Burst."

Venom burst out laughing, Burst turned her head to see what was so funny. "I've... I've never seen him this... This shy!" Venom giggled.

Burst heard a door slam, when she looked to see what it was, she saw that Pic was no longer standing in front of her.

Grimm glared at Venom. "Great job," he growled. "You scared him away. Now he'll never come out of his room."

Burst glanced up at Pic's room, which now had a beautiful tune coming from behind the door.
