"Alhaji I want Aman and Haleema to go to over to Kano to see Hajiya Ameena. I know they were together just 2 weeks ago but please... she needs her mother" Hajiya Zainab practically begged her husband.
"When do you want them to go? They're as much your daughters as they are mine hajiya. I know you'll make the best decisions when it comes to them so you don't have to beg" he replied.
"Thank you Alhaji. Next tomorrow which will be Saturday ko? (Right?) Now let's go and sleep. Old people shouldn't stay up this late" she laughed as they both got up.

Hajiya Zainab and Alhaji Mohammed have always had a beautiful marriage. He got married to her when he moved back to Abuja after his divorce with Hajiya Ameena and she helped him grow in so many ways. He always teased about how she got him from bitter to better in a short period of time and even helped him get Aman and Khaleefa back into their lives.
Her heart was so pure and loving that people knew if they wanted anything from him then they had to treat her like pure gold in order to get into his good books. They were a happy family and he prayed for Jannah for her everyday, he really couldn't ask for more.

The next morning, when they were all at the table, hajiya told them that Haleema would no longer be going to London with them but rather to Kano with Aman on Saturday and she would take Fatima and Fareeda with her.
"I'm so sad that I'm not coming with you, but I'm so happy I get to go see Ammi." Haleema said with a pout.
"Don't worry, we'll only be gone for a week. I can't take Fareeda out of school for too long" hajiya Zainab replied . "Please take me for as long as you want Maama, I hate school now. This grade is so hard" Fareeda said and they all laughed.
"You've not seen anything yet and we'll miss you so much Fatima. We can't wait to come and visit you. Our very own designer." Aman teased.
"Haha! Ya Aman. I'll come back and redo all your houses and even this house. Better book me before I become high in demand" Fatima replied.

The rest of the day went by in a blur, soon everyone was packing up and getting themselves ready for bed.

"Toh Allah kiyaye Hanya. (Have a safe flight) hurry and get to the airport. I don't want you girls to miss your flight" hajiya Zainab said to Haleema and Aman who were hugging their sisters. "Daddy we'll miss you too. Thank you for everything. Even ammi's pressies" Haleema said as they got into the car. "Byeee" they all said in tune.

The flight was short and before they knew it they were in Kano being picked up by Hajiya Ameena's driver.
"Good afternoon small madams. How was your flight? Madam sent me to get you because she's still in court" Mathew said.
"Fine, thank you Mathew. Yes we are aware. We spoke to her. Let's go home" Aman replied. She was kinda sad she wouldn't see her Ammi till later that day but she was still excited to get back home, she missed Kano and her friends so much.

Hajiya Ameena was a successful judge of the federal sharia court in Kano. She had always been a career driven woman and that was one of the things that led to her divorce with alhaji, he was from a poor family in Kano so he didn't believe in women's education because his sisters and mother never went to school and even though he was a commissioner when he got married to her, he still thought that it was a men's world and he could force her into giving up on education and all Islamic given rights of women that she had believed in.
It was not until he married Hajiya Zainab that she showed him that women are meant to be beside their husbands and not their slaves and education is for both genders that he began to see things clearly.
She also helped him reconcile with hajiya Ameena's family and even though she refused to get back with him, she accepted to let Aman stay with him even though Khaleefa said he would stay with her.
As the years further went on, hajiya Ameena began to see hajiya Zainab more like her friend as they were constantly on the phone over one thing or the other. She had managed to show her that she loved Aman as her first daughter and nothing was about to change it. Hajiya Ameena even gained more respect for alhaji Mohammed as she saw how much he had changed. They could happily say their broken family was now almost a perfect one.
