"Hello Princess, I've been calling your phone all day but it has been switched off, I had to call Haleema and when she said you were already back, I knew I had to surprise you" Kamal's deep voice said. He was sitting in the living room with Fatima and Fareeda.
"Hello Kamal, yes my battery ran out in the plane and I forgot to charge it since then, when Monica said one uncle I was wondering who it was, doesn't she know you again?" Aman said as she sat beside Fatima.
"Ya Aman, look at the goodies Ya Kamal bought for Fareeda, no wonder she goes around the house telling everyone he's her favourite" Fatima said as she got up to leave.
"But he is my favourite, you are Ya Kamal" Fareeda said as she took a bite of her dairy milk chocolate bar and everyone laughed.
"You've really bribed this girl, see how she's denying all of us and claiming you" Aman said.
"How are you? Ya gajiyan hanya (how was your journey?) I hope you are well rested now?" he replied.
"I am, in-fact I slept throughout and didn't wake up till we landed, I hope mama and baba are fine" Aman asked "They are, I was hoping we could grab dinner, I asked Maama when I called Haleema and she said it would be fine as long as we come back before 9" he said with a smile.
"Well since you've already asked, let me say bye to them".
"Maama I'm going to the dinner you and Haleema approved of without my knowledge" Aman said as she entered the kitchen.
"Better get going so you can come back on time" maama said with a cheeky smile.

They pulled up at BluCabana Restuarant at 6:30pm and Kamal quickly opened the door for Aman.
"There you go princess" he said, his tall frame towered over her as she got out of the car. His light skin complemented his navy blue kaftan and his hazel eyes lit up as he looked at her. He was quite the charming and handsome man. Tall with deep hazel eyes, a long nose and medium sized lips.
"Shall we?" he said as they walked side by side into the restaurant and headed towards the pool side.
"What would you like to have?" he said breaking the silence as he noticed something was definitely wrong with his girl.
"Umm.. pizza? steak? I don't really know. Pick something for me. You're better at ordering" she replied.
"Let's have two steaks with mashed potatoes please" he said to the waiter who took their order and left.
"Aman, look at me... you know you can talk to me about anything right? something has been off with you since you got back from London. I thought it was stress and it would be over but I keep feeling like there are walls being built between us more and more as the days go" he said
"Kamal it.. it's noth..." "Please" he said before she could even finish.
"Fine! I honestly feel chocked Kamal. I feel like I'm being rushed by everyone around me and it's just not you, daddy as well. I mean I feel like every conversation we have somehow ends in "I can't wait to get married, I can't wait for you to be mine." she said making quotation marks with her hands. I mean I know you love me so much and I can't even doubt that but I'm just not ready for this marriage talk so that's why I've been avoiding talking and chatting with you." she finished off.
"I'm honestly surprised Aman, I didn't know you felt that way. I'm sorry but maybe you should try communicating more. I know you have a lot on your plate but I'm 28, I'm not getting any younger, I have reached the financial level I desire and I'm ready to complete half of my deen. I've been with you since I moved back from the states so I thought it'd be natural to start dropping hints..." "More like popping the question" Aman cut him off.
"What do you want from me Aman? Like I said. I'm completely gone for you and I want you to be Mrs Kamal Sadiq. I'm sorry you think otherwise"
"Here you go, two medium steaks and mashed potatoes" the waiter said interrupting their conversation and just like that it was over.
