Blue

Nineteen

                                BLUE

What was happening? I felt like I'd not seen him for years. He looked so detached from the world. His hair was well, not his usual style, sticking out everywhere. His eyes, bloodshot.

I didn't know what to do but I couldn't look into his eyes any longer. So I turned away.

"Look at me," he demanded.

I didn't. For a moment I thought we were in a private place more like my house but we were in a restaurant with eyes on us. What's he thinking? I'm a public figure for Christ sake!

He lifted his hand to make me face him and I did, but my eyes were not on his. No.

"Blue".

I didn't reply. I didn't know what to do. With that, he grabbed my purse and my hand, and took me outside where his car was.

"Get in". Always giving orders. "Please?"

I looked at him and I didn't waste a second to enter his car... this car.

"Explain."

"What?"

"Why have you been ignoring me? What did I do Blue? Tell me!"

"Nothing." Jeez, Blue way to take over the situation.

I didn't know what to say. He looked crazy. I thought boys were not usually affected like this.

"You do know I like you right?"

"Do I?"

"Please don't play this game with me Blue, please, you're hurting me."

I didn't want to look at him. I knew the consequences. I wasn't going to last long here anyway.

"I'm sorry."

"For?"

"Anything I did to you. Anything at all. If I said something wrong the other day, I'm really sorry, cause all I wanted you to know was that I like you, Blue, I do." He said driving to God knows where.

"Jake," I said realizing what I was trying to do, " I can't tell you."

You know that face you make when a friend tells you he/she has gist for you, and you're so eager to know but the person says something stupid? You know it? That's the face he made just now. Ha!

Why am I annoying?

"Okay fine, fine, but tell me, what did I do? Why did I receive the silent treatment? I mean... Blue, I don't know, I'm really confused, people are saying​ that I'm crazy and all that."

"Yeah you are Jake. Look at you," I said.

"Well it's not my fault, you caused this. I mean, not you, but I don't know. Look, things have been rough for me. Football, classes, school, generally Blue. I can't think straight. Not when you have a feud with me."

"Look Jake, I'm sorry. I really can't tell you. You don't know how much it hurts me not to tell anyone. You guys don't understand me at all."

"Well, make me understand!" He shouted. The car came to a halt.

We were at our destination...his destination. The Jake house.

"You brought me here? I need to go home. Now."

"Please Blue, please, can I just sort things out before you leave? Please?"

What the hell is wrong with your brain? Man don't want to talk bout no shit. Isn't it that simple! I really feel bad.

"Jak-"

"Please? Just tell me. I need to get my head back in the game. I beg you, Blue."

It's not possible to refuse someone's constant apologies is it? I couldn't refuse. What I was going to tell him, I don't know. I didn't want to cross the line with this guy.

Yeah I may have feelings for him, doesn't mean he can't change his mind with a wave of his hand.

"Fine Jake, fine."

With that, he led me upstairs. His parents were not around, so he decided to take me to his room to discuss.

What we were to discuss about, I don't even know.

But my secrets? Will they always remain that way? I'd have to find out.
