The sound of glass breaking made the black haired Baekho sit up in a jolt. One of them must be making some fuss. He grabbed his electroshock weapon and entered the hallway where the rows of cells were. He checked every single one of them. Most of the captives were either confused at the sound or asleep. He continued walking until he saw the one who had broke the glass. The king. His hand was bleeding but his gaze was still strong and unwavering as he looked at Baekho with disdain. He had a shard of glass in his hand as he slowly stood up.
"What are you doing?" Baekho asked, gritting his teeth.
"What, you ask? I already said I rather die than let you do whatever you want with me," Minhyun hissed and pointed the glass shard at him.
"Don't you dare," Baekho said, opening the cell and charging into it. Minhyun shifted back, letting himself lean against the wall. He brought the glass shard to his neck and pursed his lips. Baekho growled, stopping right where he stood. "Put it down."
"No."
"Put. It. Down."
"No! Set me free and I'll put it down."
"Why are you so hard to deal with?" Baekho snarled. Minhyun scoffed.
"Because you're holding me here against my will," Minhyun snapped back. "And I hate it when people do that especially when you have Baekho's face too." Baekho took a step back. He hadn't expected someone to actually do this. The weapon in his hand could easily reach Minhyun at this range but he wasn't sure how fast this Minhyun was either.
"Fine... I'll remove the chain but you have to stay in here."
"Another thing."
"What now?"
"Don't you ever. Threaten me. With Baekho. Ever," he said each word filled with spite, accidentally cutting into his neck a little. Baekho's eyes widened and he unconsciously moved, grabbing Minhyun's armed hand and pulling it away from his neck. Minhyun was startled and tried to push the other away but this Baekho was even stronger than the one Minhyun was used to. "Let go!"
"I won't let you die again!" Baekho barked, prying the glass shard out of his fingers. Minhyun cried out when he felt nails dig into his skin. He let go of the glass shard and immediately felt arms grabbing his side. He was pinned to the wall, making him hiss at the male. Minhyun could tell then that there was no way he would be able to win the other in terms of strength so he had to act differently.
"Let me go!" He swung his leg up, kicking Baekho in the chest. They both gasped but Baekho let go, stepping back. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to kick y- I mean." Minhyun bit his lip. He hadn't mean to hurt the other.
"It's fine. I deserve this for the way I have treated you," Baekho said. He looked at Minhyun who clutched his bleeding hand. His chest clenched, thoughts running wild in his mind. "Will you let me look at that?"
Minhyun moved his hand closer to himself, staining his clothes. Baekho frowned and sighed.
"Fine. Be that way," he huffed and bent down. He unlocked the chain and got up, walking out from the cell. He made sure the electric gate was up again before walking away. Once he was out of sight, Minhyun dropped to his knees. He gritted his teeth and pulled out his handkerchief, wrapping his hand tightly. He knew what he just did was risky but there had to be an upper hand that he had over this Baekho. The only thing that came to his mind was his own life. He didn't like the thought of playing with his own life like this but staying still wasn't an option for him. He was sure his own Baekho was worried to death by now, if not crying over how useless he was.
"I miss you, Baekho... even though I still get to look and hear you this way," he mumbled to himself, touching the ring. He felt himself slowly losing consciousness. He shook his head, trying to stay awake but even the throbbing pain in his hand wasn't helping. He guessed it was already late in the day. How long had he been locked in here? He laid down after sliding the other glass shards aside so he didn't hurt himself by accident. "Baekho..."
When night fell, Baekho went back to the cell to check on all of them. He had also cleared out the cells of anything that could be used as a weapon so nobody would act so rashly again. He was glad most of them were asleep, even the king. He gently took the bleeding hand and removed the handkerchief. He cleaned the wound and applied antiseptic before wrapping it up with bandage. He would never had guessed anyone of them would hurt themselves just to get to him but he guessed this Minhyun was just that desperate. It made him jealous of the Baekho that shared the same bed with this Minhyun. They loved each other.
He clenched his fist but relaxed and slowly put his hand down so he wouldn't wake up. He knew how much of a light sleeper Minhyun was after all. Even if they were different people in terms of personalities, he was sure they still shared similar traits. He had to be more careful now with what he said and how he acted around them. He wanted so badly to touch the other's sleeping face but knew to hold back his urges. He got up and left the cell, checking again that all the doors were closed.
Minhyun opened his eyes slightly and pulled his hand closer to his body. He had heard the other come in and woke up. Having had plenty of sleepless nights before when he was alone had triggered his habit of waking up to small noises again after all these time. The smell of medicine and blood was mixing together, making him scrunch his nose. He realised the glass shards had been cleared up too. Maybe he wasn't as terrible as Minhyun gave him credit for but living like this was horrible too. The floor was cold and offered no comfort after all. He decided not to think too much about it and closed his eyes again, hoping sleep would come soon.
