20. He Forgets Your Anniversary (E.D)

Y/n's POV:

I was sitting at home alone, waiting for my boyfriend of 2 years, Ethan, to show up so that we can celebrate our anniversary. However, it's now 11 p.m. and he still hasn't shown up. We were supposed to go out at 7 p.m. so I decided to give up at that point. I tried to call him and text him, but he hasn't returned to any of the calls and texts. So really, there's no point in trying anymore

I had prepared a nice meal for the both of us together, there was some red wine and some candles lit up. I decided to put the food and fridge back in it's place and I was about to put the candles away until I heard the door unlock and open, to reveal Ethan

"Hey ba- aww what's this for?" he asked

"Are you kidding me right now, Ethan?" I asked, he was confused, his eyebrows scrunched up

"What? What did I miss?" he asked

"Ethan, what is today's date?" I asked, getting frustrated and crossing my arms. He opens his phone and checks the calendar

"It's May 14th, w-" he said then gasped as he finally remembered, I scoffed and organized the dining room

"Babe, I'm so sorry, I wish I could turn back time and fix all this b-" he said, but I cut him off

"You can't, Ethan!" I yelled, he stopped talking and I started crying

"I was waiting for you, this whole night, wanting to see you get ready for the surprise of our 2 year anniversary, only to see you show up 4 hours late!" I yelled, getting so angry

"I know baby, and I cannot be more angry at myself for this. Please, let me fix this" he said

"Save it, Ethan, I just wanna go to sleep" I said, I then organized everything and went to my room to change to pajamas. I then brought some extra blankets and pillows that we kept in the closet and went to give them to Ethan

Once I reached the bottom of the stairs, I saw Ethan sitting down on the couch crying and putting his head on his hands, feeling bad for what he did

It breaks my heart to see the love of my life like this, but he needed to understand his mistake, so I wasn't going to allow myself to forgive him that easily

"Here you go, you can go ahead and sleep on the couch" I said then walked away and went to sleep. Of course, I only slept for a few minutes cause I can't sleep well without Ethan wrapping me and keeping me safe in his arms

The next morning, I woke up to the smell of waffles, red velvet waffles to be exact. I get up and go downstairs

Once I reached the bottom of the stairs, I looked around to see red hearts everywhere, a beautiful set-up on the dining table filled with different options for breakfast like chocolate croissants, fruits, eggs, bacon, hash browns, sausages and funfetti pancakes. My heart was melting at the sight

I then look up to see Ethan's shirtless back towards me, working on the red velvet waffles, which is one of my favorite things that Ethan makes

He then turned around to put the waffles in a plate

"Oh, good morning, angel!" he said cheerfully, making me smile

"Good morning, this is all for me?" I asked

"Of course," he said, then went up to me, "babe" he said, then put his hands on my waist

"I'm so sorry for forgetting our anniversary last night, I shouldn't have done that, and I know that I can be so irresponsible and you can call me the worst boyfriend in the world b-" he said then I cut him off

"Stop that, you are not the worst boyfriend in the world. I love you, and I will never stop loving you. It's just that, anniversaries and important days like last night mean a lot to me a-" 

"And they mean a lot to me too, Y/n. Look, I never meant to disappoint you as a boyfriend, nor do I ever want to. Please, give me another chance, we can go out tonight, have some dinner, some champagne, some chocolate covered strawberries, huh?" he said, I smiled at the thought of tonight

"We can go to that park that we love so much, we can lay on the grass and look at the stars" he continued, I bit my lip, thinking whether or not I should forgive him or not

"Ugh, fine" I said with a small smile at the end. Ethan started cheering, he spun me around in circles then kissed me so passionately on the lips

"Thank you so much, baby, I won't let you down" he said with excitement. I brought my hand to his cheek, stroking the pad of my thumb on his cheek

"I know you won't" I said then kissed his cheek gently "you never did" I continued
