26. Fake Girlfriend pt. 3 (E.D)

Y/n's POV:

Eric, Rebecca, Ethan and I were still on our double date. We finished with the dinner at the fancy restaurant and we decided to take a walk together, and by together I mean Ethan and I behind Rebecca and Eric by approximately seven feet

We were enjoying our walk and Ethan and I were talking together, I'm still catching feelings from Ethan, and it hurts because I know that if I say something it might affect our friendship, and I don't wanna risk that

Ethan and I were talking and I look in front of me to see Rebecca and Eric making out a little bit, I started laughing. Ethan got confused, he looked in front of me and also started laughing

"That's really awkward," I said as our laughs started dying down

"Yeah, it really is," replied Ethan, "so, how's the fake dating going for you?" asked Ethan as we continued our walk once Rebecca and Eric stopped kissing

"It's.. fine, I guess?" I said

"It doesn't look like it's fine with you" smirked Ethan, making me chuckle

"I mean, for some reason, when we started all of this, I thought it was going to be awkward between the both of us; because we're best friends and we've never fake dated before. But, as we kept going with this, well.. it started to feel more natural. It's so weird because we're best friends, so I never expected for this to feel somewhat normal. I guess that's why I'm confused as to whether or not I find it normal for us" I said, Ethan nodded, agreeing with me

"Y/n, do you know why I chose you, out of everyone I know?" asked Ethan, I shook my head. I never really thought of that

"No, I haven't actually thought of that before. Why did you choose me?" I asked, Ethan chuckled

"Because, of all of the girls that I know, you're the most... natural and real. I don't mean this as in 'you can make our fake relationship seem realistic' I mean it as that... we've been best friends for so long, it makes it look like we've been dating for.. years" Ethan said, I chuckled 

"Yeah, that's pretty true," I said

"Also," continued Ethan, "because I thought that it could've been real," said Ethan. I stopped in my tracks while Ethan continued walking. What did that mean? He wanted us to date? Is he joking? Oh my God, what the hell does he mean?

Ethan wanted to talk to Rebecca, so he asked me to get to know Eric better. So, I started walking with Eric, and we were talking. But, all I could think about is what Ethan said to me

"Y/n? Are you okay?" asked Eric, making me leave the zone that I was in

"Y-yeah, sorry" I said and we continued walking

After a few seconds of just silence, Eric started talking again

"So, you and Ethan, you guys aren't real, are you?" he asked

I stayed silent, which gave him my answer. He started chuckling

"It's okay, I won't tell anyone, not even Rebecca. But, just so that we're even, Rebecca and I aren't a thing either" said Eric, making me shocked

"Wait, really?" I asked, he nodded

"Yeah, she just wanted to make Ethan jealous, and it's obvious that it's not working because first of all, as we're speaking this moment, they're just talking as well. There's no kissing nor physical contact, and second of all, he's obviously not into her" he said

"Oh, come on. If Ethan isn't into Rebecca, then why the hell would he put himself in a situation that shows that he wants to be with her?" I asked

"Because he's getting an excuse to be romantically with you. Real or not, he wants you to crack," he replied, I was confused, crack? What does that mean?

"Let me guess, you guys made a deal where if one of you catch feelings for the other, then you should go your separate ways, correct?" he asked, I nodded, "so, he wants you to tell him that you like him, he wants you to crack and come in the open so that he doesn't put himself in a situation where he might lose you. So, he's pressure on you to crack, or he wants you to start liking him so that you can make the first move" he continued

I was shocked that he knows so much about these kinds of things

"H-how do you know all of this?" I asked, he looked down at me, considering he's really tall and chuckled 

"That's not the first time I was used to be a fake boyfriend to get someone specific to like my fake partner" he replied, I didn't know whether or not I should feel bad or if there's something good about this

"Why do you agree to do all this?" I asked

"Because.." he sighed, "okay, promise you won't tell anyone about this?" he said, I nodded. I stuck my pinkie out for him, he chuckled and grabbed my pinkie with his as a promise

"I've been saving up for college, so I get paid to do all of these fake dates and relationships to get paid so that I can go to my dream college in London. I've been doing this for a while now, and I do this because my parents can't pay. So, I had to do this on my own" he said, I nodded, understanding his situation

We kept talking, and then we had to leave. Ethan took me back home and said that he wanted to talk to me

"Hey, Y/n, can we... talk?" asked Ethan

"Oh my God, are you breaking up with me?" I dramatically gasped, making Ethan and I laugh

We sat down on the few steps in front of my house

"Um.. what I said earlier, on our walk," he started, I nodded, signaling for him to continue, "made me realize that it's not Rebecca that I want.. it's you" he said
