My nostrils flared in anger when I heard my name from his lips. "I don't know Mr. Marshal."

I threw a glare in his direction and he was satisfied to push me to my limits. I decided not to give him the satisfaction of irritating me and pretended to be indulged in my lab work.

"Okay enough of this nonsense. Mr. Smith, last warning. Now please take your seat." Mr. Marshal seemed to be restless. I could guess that Smith was up to something. A mischievous smile played on his lips. "But where should I be seated, sir? There's no vacant seat." He acted all innocent but I figured it out.

Punch him right in the face, my inner me encouraged to do so. However, I decided against it and did my best not to lose my shit.

"Can't you see an empty seat next to Miss Davis. Don't fuss around and have a seat there.

I sighed in disgust. I put my head on the cool lab table. It felt nice and calmed my nerves a bit, preparing me to face the greatest horror of the day. He walked towards the table gracefully. Even I was fumbling with anger, somewhere deep down, my stomach twisted a little. I admired his looks, his moves and mostly his jawline. I shook my head a few times with closed eyes. You hate this guy. He dared to sit on your seat. Inner me snapped at me for mini crushing over this hot mess.

"Hey man. How you doing?" William shook hands with him. I was gobsmacked. So basically Smith even persuaded my best friend. My only best friend. "Hi there again, Miss Davis. Didn't scare the hell outta you back there, right?" He tiltied his head on his left shoulder, facing me. I didn't respond to him. Instead, I turned towards William and whispered him to swap with me. William obliged.

"Hi I'm William. Are you new here?"

Mason's eyes never left my face." Yeah just moved back a few days ago. I maintain a permanent residence on the Claytons Street."

"We are having a party this weekend. Wanna come?" William was being way too more polite than required.

"I don't know anybody here. But it's a good way to start knowing people."

"Great! Party is at the Brew Home. Be there at eight p.m." William exclaimed in pure joy.

I thanked god a zillion times when the bell rang. William rushed to his next class, leaving me behind with Mr. Arrogant, not so cool Smith. Other students too trickled out of the room. It was just me and Mason in the class. I pretended to be busy collecting my stuff.

"Will you be there?" His voice startled me. I turned around reflexively and there he was, a few inches away from me. My heart skipped a beat and I felt an electric spark between us. His lips were bloody red and parted. It distracted me. I stammered while my mind processed what he just asked. Was he asking about the party? Or in general?

"What?" Was all that came out of my lips. "The party?" He clarified, now whispering. His breath smelt of mint, so refreshing and addictive.

"I guess I will be." I replied. He came a bit more closer. My heart sank. Our eyelashes met and I closed my eyes. I was breathing heavily. God! What is he doing to me!

He brought his lips closer to me left ear and whispered, "then I guess the party is gonna be quite lame." I was struck back to the reality. That hurted my feelings. I'm not a boring person. I pushed him away with my right hand and tumbled towards the door. He fell down on the floor and was waving me when I turned to have a glance at him.
