"Sounds so Kidish. Do they all play such games?" I ask william.
"These games never go out of fashion Ava," William's all ears to the game. It's ridiculous. So what's next, truth and dare, suck and blow or beer pong? This makes no sense to play a game at a party. One should just come here, have a drink or two, eat free pizzas and just head home. What's with the games, I never got and I doubt i ever will.
Red cups full of neat beer are being passed around the table. I ask for a soda and Ron willingly hands me down one.
"What's with the special treatment Ron? Beer for all dude."
"Back off Smith," I look him straight into the eyes hoping he would just drop the topic.
"Its okay mason, somebody has to be sober to witness the mess this place is going to be." Ron winked at him and sat next to ashley. " okay guys I'll go first and then we'll move in the clockwise direction. All of you know the rules right? A person will speak up the thing he or she has not done ever in their life and those of the others who have done will have a sip from the drink. Simple enough right?"
Everybody cheers and Ron gets up from his place to make a statement. " Never have I ever been pulled over by a cop."
Half of the room drinks to it including william. He was pulled over for driving over the limit and he got a ticket a few months back. His mother was disappointed but his dad was proud of him for being a bad boy for once. But what surprised me the most was that mason didn't sip. Was he never pulled over by a cop? He looked like a guy with attracting trouble where ever he went. But then, it's all a game and nobody really knows who's telling the truth and who's lying.
"Never have I ever been in love," Ashley announces with so much pride like she had won a Nobel prize. Nobody took a sip except a couple who had been dating each other since middle school. Everybody cheers them and there are awws and so cutes heard in the room. I shake my head knowing that this will last for a year until we are all off to colleges.
The game continues with one hell of ridiculous questions. Never have I ever got a tattoo, never have I ever told a lie, never have I ever been stood up on a date, and God knows what else. I lost my concentration after the fifth question. I was now sipping my soda without being concerned with what the questions are being thrown around by my peers.
I peek in Mason's direction and he is staring at me, more like studying me. I shift uncomfortably in my seat and try to hide behind William. I try to peek again to see if he's still staring in my direction but now his focus is on Bianca's thighs.
When its Bianca's turn she stands up on the table demanding everybody's attention which she gains pretty easily. She likes to be the centre of attraction, a crowd puller as a matter of fact. She raises her red cup and flips her hair back and says,"never have I been rejected by a guy."
She very proudly announces and settles back on Mason's lap without seeing who took the sip. She just wanted to make a statement, so she did.
Mason shifts from under Bianca and it's his turn. I try to be as calm as possible but this guy does something to me which leads me to fidgeting. I'm I'm sure where to keep my hands. One second they are in my lap, the next they are on the table. I take a deep breath and fold my hands to my chest.
The room suddenly falls silent and all eyes are on mason. "Well, never have I ever been in a committed relationship." He says and takes a seat next to Bianca. Finally she is out of his lap.
"So wait dude, you never banged a chick?" Somebody asks from over the room. I'm all ears even though I don't want to but I am trying my hardest to listen to his answer. "I said I haven't been in a relationship, not that I haven't fucked. There's a difference bro." He smirks and the guys pat him on the back. He falls back next to Bianca and his eyes are again on me. God, I need to leave now.
I get up from my seat and William is next to me in an instant. "Hey where are you going? Our turn is soon."
"I don't know if I can do this anymore. It's really dreadful. Let's leave."
"You can't leave the circle without your turn but if you are too eager to leave you need to gulp down a bottle of whiskey," mason's nose is again in my business.
"Come on Ava it's just 30 more minutes and then we'll get something to eat," William assures me and we settle back.
It was the most dreadful half hour of my life and I was silently praying for it to be over as soon as possible.
Its finally William's turn and he stands up straight.
"Never have I ever been a snake rolled up in a sleeve." There's a sound of ohhhhh and everybody's looking In molly's direction. They both dated for a while but she was just using william to get her assignments done.
I didn't realise that it's my turn until Ron waves in front of me. "Eath to Ava! It's your turn."
I don't know what should I say. "Never have I ever-
Been the perfect daughter her dad wished to be."
Chills run down my spine when i heard bianca. My mind is numb I don't know what to say. William defends me by calling her out and others do the same. "Shouldn't she be grieving? But here she is partying around," Bianca's voice chimes again.
I turn towards the door but william grabs my wrist, " where are you going. She's just bad mouthing. Ignore her."
I just need to be alone right now please William. I'm not leaving you alone here we'll drive together home but for now please leave me alone. I need to be alone please."
He hears my plea and let's go of my wrist. I'll be back I swear," I say and leave the brew.
I'm walking directionless, tears running down my cheeks. I rub my hands against my cheeks. Bianca's words echo in my mind.
I walked and walked and then minutes later I'm standing in front of my old dance studio.
(Hi guys, hope you liked the chapter. I have so much stored in for this story that none of you'll be expecting. Also, this is probably the longest chapter I've written so far. Do rate and comment. The next update will be on Thursday. Till then be safe and be kind :*)
