The rain was getting worse by the days. Some days would be light then the next it would be hard, bee stinging pain kind of rain. You tried to stay dry, you would try so hard, but normally it would turn south. Everynight you would go back to your chamber, soggy and Dorian would throw a fit. The rain was starting to turn him into a sourpuss.

"Its not like I can control the weather, Dorian." you shoot him a glare out of the corner of you eyes.

"Well you can control whether you're wet or not! Take an umbrella for the Maker's sake."

"Oh yes, the Inquisitor, known to be such a brute and cold man, carrying around a frilly umbrella." You take off the wet tunic and set it by the rising fire. You sat in front of the fire, almost feeling the beads of water on your arms slowly vanish. It was relaxing, feeling the heat on your arms, you closed your eyes and allowed the fire to do what it needed to do.

Then you feel something on your head, it was tugging lightly, then you felt something ruffle your hair, "If you're going to sit by the fire at least dry your hair." Dorian put the now damp towel on your lap. He made himself comfortable next to you near the fire.

"Thanks, I guess." you mumbled.

He sighed. "I just dont want to see you laying bed cause you're sick from the rain. I dont know..." he mumbled, rubbing his eyes slightly.

"Anyway, how come we haven't done any missions lately?" Dorian looked at you, you had the towel just resting on top of your head. He laughed a little.

"Well i've been on missions, I figured you would want to stay, y'know stay dry and warm." There was a silence, minus the crackling from the fire.

"Really? What if you got hurt? What if you-"

"Dorian, calm down. They were just requisitions for the soldiers, I wasn't in any life threating danger." You laugh to yourself, Dorian didn't find it funny.

The air grew tight around you two.

"How do i not know you're not lying to me? You're way too important to me Amatus, i can not lose you." He stiffled a sigh

"I'm important to you?" you repeated under your breath, he heard it and grabbed your now warm hand, he pulled you to his direction, he wanted to see your eyes.

"What? You really thought that all of this is just a fling? Just for one's pleasure? I truly care for you. Sure you were..." he paused, thinking of a sutiable word. "A twat when I first came to Haven. Maker, you were just so rude to everyone... but I still saw something in you. Something i've seen in no man back home. I tried to get you to at least talk to me that wasn't a order or a slurr. The book, you remember don't you?"

"How could I not? You hit my ear..." You mumbled.

"Yes, I am still truly sorry about that, but I did that purposely." A small smirk curled around his lips.

"Pfft-" You laugh to yourself. "Oh no, you are such a criminal." You had tears rolling down your cheeks. You look at Dorian, teary eyed, he was smiling. He loved hearing your laugh, seeing your smile. Just you being happy made him incredibly happy. He wiped the river of tears away with the back of his hand.

"Come now, you're getting all emotional on me, love." He smiled, you propped yourself up with your elbows on his thighs.

"Maker... how did I get so lucky..." You mumbled to yourself. His eyes met yours as he gave you a wide smile. His lips met your forehead, gently tracing the scar.

The room started to get lighter and warmer. It couldn't have been the dying fire but, the sun... it was finally shining through the rain.

Dorian looked towards the balcony. He stands up, making your elbows fall and you slamming into the floor.

"Sorry Amatus." He helped you up, and brushed the dirt off of your chin.

The sun.. it was out completely, this monsoon was finally over. Dorian grabs your hand and dashed to the balconey.

"Easy now, love." You sigh. Your head started to stir. It was going insane, butterflies grew in your stomach. Now would be the perfect time...

"Dori, i need to grab something.." You let go of his hand, he was to caught up in the sun to really notice.

The rings...

They grew heavy along with your heart. Would this be to soon? Your mind started to race. Questions flew through your head, you became nervous. You wanted to be with Dorian forever but... would someone of his stature be spoken for? //man my writing... oof. i guess 3 months will do that to you..//

Breathe... You told yourself. Just relax and this will go by smoothly... hopefully

You started to walk towards Dorian, the rings in your hand. He propped his elbows up on the railing. The sun made him look absolutely stunning.

"Dorian I have something to ask you..." You were too busy swooning to pay attention to your feet. You tripped.

The rings went flying, you managed to catch the gold one but the grayish green one went to far, it went over the railing and fell down into the steep valleys below.

"No!" you dashed to look over the railing. Dorian had a confused look on his face.

"What was that all about I/N?" He put a hand on your still bare shoulder. You clenched your fist, the ring dug into your palm.

"Fuck..." you muttered.

"Amatus..?"

You faced him. His eyes searched your face, maybe thinking he could see what is wrong.

"It was a stupid idea but..." you grab both of his hands, the ring pressed into both of your palms "I love you a lot Dorian. You make me crazy and i- I sound like an idiot.." you drift off

"No no, continue." He was intrigued oddly enough.

"I wanted to.. marry you. So we would always be with each other... I would be able to call you 'mine' and mine only but that's being selfish huh? I had this whole plan thought out but, I couldn't wait. I'm too impaticent for my own good."

Your eyes drifted away. Too embarrassed to look at him.

"Marriage?" He spoke so softly. It wasn't a whisper, but soothing none the less. "You're bluffing... right?"

"Dorian I'm not joking, I love you so much. I want to start a family with you at my side. I want to live with you when this shit is over with, i-"

Soft lips pressed against yours. The ring still in between your hands. It grew warm.

"You talk too much Amatus..." He looked at the ring in his palm. It glowed in the sunlight, the reflection bounced off his fingers as he moved it around, checking the band for anything in particular.  "No jewels?"

"No, but there was a ring that matched your eyes perfectly. But that's long gone."

He slipped the ring on and looked at it.

"I'm yours." He spoke.

You choked on air. "What?"

"I accept. Hell I've been with you long enough." He smiled.

"You're serious?" You had a huge grin on your face.

"Yes yes. Now just get this over with." He placed his lips on yours and for once, you had control.

It sounded like explosions going off in your head. It finally happened. He is yours until death.
