Who Is It?- Riku x Sora

Chapter 2

"Hey Kairi, can I ask you something?" I leaned over to Kairi who sat next to me.

"What is so important that you need to talk to me in class?" Kairi said whispering back to me.

"I was wondering... does Riku like anyone?" I asked.

"Why are you asking me that? You two are best friends, you should know," Kairi said.

"Well yeah.. I tried asking him the other day but he just kept avoiding the question," I said placing my head on my arms.

"You really don't know?" Kairi asked.

"No...," I said frowning at Kairi.

"Geez, you should be the person to know best. I'll give you a hint then," Kairi said.

Kairi looked around the classroom to see if anyone was able to hear her.

"I can't say who it is but Riku does like someone," Kairi whispered.

"Really!?" I jumped out my seat.

"Sora! Why do I always have to tell you to be quiet in class," the teacher's eyes pieced though my soul.

"Sorry!" I said sitting back down.

I made sure to talk in a quieter tone.

"So... he does?" I asked again, making sure.

"Do you doubt me?" Kairi said.

"Well um.. no but-"

"You do! You should trust me on this one though. It's pretty obvious... Kairi-sama knows it all after all!" Kairi said in an enthusiastic voice while grinning at me.

"How do you know though?" I asked.

"Oh if you're worried about Riku telling me himself... Of course he didn't. He trusts you over anyone else," Kairi said.

"Then... how?" I asked.

"I've been hanging out with the two of you for the longest time now. Of course I can tell! Oh if you're wondering.... I know who you like too," Kairi said winking at me.

"Huh....!?"

"Alright, class is over. Get out of here now," the teacher's voice rang through my ears.

"Well class is over, I wanted to go grab a snack and maybe eat somewhere later. You mind coming along?" Kairi asked.

"Oh! Of course not," I said.

"Great!" Kairi smiled at me. "Ask Riku to come too."

"But wouldn't Riku want to study around this time?" I asked.

"Oh don't worry, he wouldn't turn down a day to hang out together," Kairi said.

"Okay then," I said.

"Meet you outside the school campus! Better be there by ten minutes," Kairi said.

I walked to Riku's classroom. Riku is a year older than me so his class wasn't around mines.

"Riku?" I called but no one responded.

I looked inside the classroom. Empty was the word to describe it.

Where could Riku be?

"Ah um.. Riku! I have something I want to tell you."

I heard a girl's voice through the hallways.

"I..I um.. I li-like."

No way.. is someone confessing to Riku right now?

"....I already know what you're going to say. My answer is no. I've never even met you before," Riku said.
