Who Is It?- Riku x Sora

Chapter 6

Sora's POV

"Hey! I made porridge, eat up," I yelled after opening Riku's bedroom door.

"Oh.. Sora. You're here..... Ah! I think Riku is acting a little strange. He feels really hot too. I think he caught a fever as well," Kairi said.

"What do you mean, he's acting strange?" I asked.

"O-oh, nothing! I think the fever he has is affecting his thinking," Kairi said. "Well! I'll feed him the porridge. You don't have a wet towel?"

"Oh! The wet towel, I forgot. I'll be right back," I said.

"Ah! Wait... I'll get the wet towel. You should stay here with Riku," Kairi said passing the porridge back to me while she ran out.

"...Sora..," Riku softly said.

"Riku! Here, eat up," I said.

"Okay.. feed me..," Riku said.

"...I don't have a choice, do I?" I said.

Right when I was about to feed Riku, I lifted the spoon up.

"Ah, I forgot, you like pepper in your porridge right? I'll go get it right n-"

Riku grabbed my arm.

"....don't go..," Riku said.

"Huh?"

"Stay... here..," Riku said.

"Oh um.. if you really want me to then... okay," I said.

I sat back down, continuing to feed Sora.

If I ask Riku who he likes, he'll probably tell me! I mean he's really honest when he's sick and he'll forget everything he said eventually! ...But I can't take advantage of him just because he's sick.... Why can't someone just tell me!!

"Hah.. Riku, are you feeling okay?" I asked.

"...Yeah... just a little dizzy..," he said.

"Okay! I'm back! I brought the wet towel and a thermometer," Kairi yelled.

"Oh thanks!" I said.

"No problem," Kairi smiled.

I placed the towel over Riku's forehead.

"This should cool you down," I said.

I turned on the thermometer and placed it in Riku's ear.

"How high is the temperature?" Kairi asked.

"102° Fahrenheits!!" (Around 38.9 Celsius) 

"That high?! I'll go out to find some medicine," Kairi shouts running out the room.

"Riku, you have a fever and it's really high. Here, have one last bite and rest up," I said.

Riku ate one last bite of the porridge.

"There, you should really go to bed now," I said.

"Oh..," Riku said. He then sat up and scooted really close to me.

"Riku?"

Riku gripped onto my shoulders and pressed his lips against mines.

"HAH?!" I shouted.

W-was that a...?

He soon layed back down on his bed and fell right to sleep.

"I heard you shout Sora! What's wrong??" Kairi exclaimed.

"Um.. umm,"I stuttered. I didn't know what to say.

"Oh Riku's asleep. Whew. Riku was saying wierd things," Kairi said in relief.

"What kinds of things?" I asked.

"Um.. well, don't worry about it!"

"Eh?? Tell me!"

"Don't worry about it~ So why did you shout?" Kairi asked.

"Well um..," I looked around the room.

"Ah! Sora, your face is turning red. Are you catching Riku's fever??" Kairi said.

"N-no.. I.. Kairi.. umm.."

"I'm your best friend, I'll make sure to listen to what you say!" Kairi encouaged, smiling at me.

"You see... I was.. feeding.. Riku and-and he suddenly kissed me," I said.

"He... he kissed you?!"

"Y-yeah."

"Oh my gosh! I knew Riku had a thing for yo-"

"Kairi, stop fangirling for a second! You're having a nosebleed too," I said.

"My bad, my bad," she said.

Kairi grabbed the tissue box which was conviently next to her and she wiped her nose.

"I'm confused, Kairi!"

"Did you hate it?"

"I'm not exactly mad at Riku... I'm just wondering why he did that. Is he fever that high? His fever must be affecting him," I said.

"....haha, well... if you aren't mad, it shouldn't be much of a problem. You can tell him what happened when he recovers and ask him why he did it," Kairi said.

"...Okay."

"...And... Sora, I want to ask you something."

"What is it?"

"Do you.. have anyone you like?"

"H-huh? Where did that come from?" I asked.

"Oh u-um I'm just curious."

"I-I... I don't l-like anyone," I said.

"You don't seem so confident in your answer... Well, I was just wondering what you'd say," she said.

Kairi looked at her watch.

"It's already this late?? Sorry, Sora! I have to go, I need to study for the upcoming test," Kairi said. "Here's the medicine I found. Use it, okay? You should study when you have time too," Kairi suggested.

Oh yeah. Riku was supposed to help me study today. Instead, I'm helping him recover from a nasty virus and fever.

"Yeah, see you soon," I waved.

"See you!"

"I'll ask Riku about this when he recovers... But he won't remember! What will he think of it? Maybe he'll think I'm going crazy. Will he think I'm lying? Will it be awkward afterwards? What should I do??

I looked over to Riku.

"His breathing is a lot calmer. Thank god," I say to myself, sighing in relief.

I lift the wet towel from his forehead.

The towel must be warm by now. I'll go change it.

I walked downstairs rinsing the towel and grabbing a new one. I folded the towel and soaked it with cold water. I put it in a bucket filled with cold water. I carried it up to Riku's room.

I placed the new towel over his forehead.

"Thank you..," Riku said.

"You're awake!" I yelled.

Though, not a word was said after that.

"Oh, guess he isn't," I said.

It was getting late and I was feeling a little tired.

It'll be fine if I sleep a bit, right?
