Chapter 5 - The Merger Party

"Thank you Neha" said Ram for giving him Priya's number.
"That's not an issue sir" Neha replied.
"Come on don't be formal. Call me Ram. We are friends." He replied.
She smiled and left the place.

"Congoooooooo!!!!" Rajat was jumping away with Priya and was introducing her as his girlfriend to every staff at the office.
"She's mine. She's mine. She's my girl" he kept telling everyone.

Priya was in for a shock. A person who never discloses anything to anyone is now shouting like this. She felt happy to be his.

Ram on the other hand, was looking at this. Though he was disturbed, he didn't show it in his face. He pretended being busy.
He himself didn't know why he was disturbed at that sight.

At evening after all the josh ended, they parted to go home.
Rajat dropped Priya home and went.

Neha called Ram "Ram,sorry to have disturbed you at this hour" She said as it was 9:30 pm.
"No problem Neha. I was awake" he said.
Working on the new project.
"Agarwal sir called and told me to arrange for the merger party." She said.
"Oh yeah and I forgot that. What do you need from me?" He said.
"Can you call Priya and inform her?" Neha said.
"At this hour?" Ram asked.
"And why me? Can't you inform her?" He said.
"We actually had a fight. And She isn't picking my calls. She'll pick yours and she'll be awake" Neha said clearing all his doubts.
"Thanks and good night" he said.
"Good night" she said and cut.

His heartbeats fastened. Were he to call Priya? Like what would he tell? How would he start?
He did many rehearsals in front of the mirror.
Atlast he decided what he was going to do.
He texted her , " Hi Ms. Sharma, Ram Kapoor here. Just wanted to let you know about the merger party. Didn't wanna call you as it's late!" He texted.
Once he pressed the send button, he was shivering.
The Ram Kapoor who never got scared of anything is now scared just for sending someone a text message without any reason.

And then there came a reply, " Thanks Mr. Kapoor. I would love to. Meet you tomorrow. Good night"

Ram got an unexpected smile without knowing himself.

"Good night Ms. Sharma" he texted back.

Both of them smiled at each other's care. He didn't call her at this hour which meant he understood her.
She smiled, thinking of how much he understood her every time. She also thought of rajat on the other hand, who doesn't think of her at all and kept scolding her all the time,like the psycho BFs!

The next day,
"Vikram yaaar........ please select a good one for me!"
"Wait Ram. Am searching" he said.

Atlast a good sherwani was selected for Ram Kapoor by his friend Vikram. He was the only friend he has whom he could trust at any time at any hour.

"Thanks yaar" He said.
" no need Ram. Am thankful to you for taking me to the party. For looking at good chicks" he said laughing.
"Shut up" He said.
"Why? And wait for what are you so interested in this merger party?" He said.
"Come on Vikram. Nothing much" Ram said.

Both of them went to the party.
There, Priya and Neha were there. Priya was dressed so beautifully in a saree while Neha was in a simple outfit, yet grand.

"Hi Mr. Kapoor" Priya went near Ram and gave him a handshake.
He lent his hand back and wishes back "Hello Ms. Sharma"

Rajat saw this and came there.
He side hugged Priya and said "You're looking so beautiful" diverting her attention from Ram.
