Chapter 20 -- Concern

As she held the photo frame closely and slept, Ram hurried towards the study.

"Why did mom tell her about Avantika and Siddharth?" He thought.

As he was fidgeting with the cubes on the table, he heard someone come in.

"Kuch Chahiye beta?" He asked.

"Just your chai Kaka" he said as he stood up and walked towards the shelf.

When he was about to pick a book, he got a call. He took it.

"Haan Rohan bathana" he said and started talking to him walking to and fro the study discussing things about the conference which Vikram had promised to handle.

"Okay just mail me all the details. I will have a look into it" he said as he cut the call after 20 minutes.

Till then Karan Kaka came in with the chai and  switched on the printer according to Ram's orders. As soon as he did, sheets of paper starting ruffling up. Indicating the old man to move out, he took the papers one by one and arranged them.

Before Karan Kaka left the room, he called him again. "Where is dadi?" He asked.

"She is sleeping beta!" He said.

"Sleeping?" He asked surprisingly looking at his wrist watch. It showed 6:00am. "but..." He asked.

Understanding the question, the man answered, "She didn't sleep the whole night. Excitement of seeing her Favourite grandson" he smiled.

Ram smiled at him and asked him to take rest as well. He took a box from his pocket, opened it to take out his reading glasses and started going through the files he just took a print out of.

"Trrinnnggggg triiinnngggg" the shrills woke up the sleep of a beautiful lady! She shuddered with the sound as she opened her eyes, rubbing them slowly, and looked at her holding a photo frame.

"When did I even sleep!" She thought and looked at her surroundings, taking in where she was. She saw that she was been covered with a duvet.

"Must be him. But where is he?" She thought  as she moved towards her phone which woke her up.

"Haan ma" she said as she picked up the phone and moved towards the balcony attached to the bedroom.

This was the first time she was seeing this place and she now itself knew how beautiful Amritsar was.

"Kyaa hai priya. Ek phone Nahi Kar Sakthi Thu?" Her mom scolded from the other end.

"Ma we just came!" She said.

"Just came? You saw the time? It's 9:30am!! You guys should have reached there by 5:30 or 6:00 am na?" She asked. "is everything all right?"

Priya could clearly sense her mother getting panicked. "9:30am ho Gaya!" She thought.

"Ma when I reached here I was so tired and I didn't even know when I slept. Abhi uti" she said.

"How is Ram?" She asked.

"Teek hai ma vo!" She said as she heard a knock at the balcony glass door. It was Karan Kaka.

"MAA I'll call you in sometime okay?" She asked.

"Okay beta. Kyaal rakna" she said as she cut the call.

"Yes Kaka" she said as she moved towards the bedroom.

"Ma'am your tea. Sorry did I disturb?" He asked.

"Arre Kaka don't call me ma'am. And you didn't disturb me at all!" She said smiling at him.
