  The busy hours were now behind me so I began to relax finally. I tell you, people who need their coffee are absolutely savages. And trust me, I'm not being overdramatic in this instance.

   It has been a few days since my internal promise to get closer with Ash. Shorter added us to a group chat a few days ago with him, Ash, Eiji and I, and so far I have had no problems connecting with Eiji and Shorter, hell I've been hanging out with them when I'm off work.

  But Ash, proves to get closer to, but I expected this, Eiji did warn me after all. Its just a social defense mechanism, and I can respect that. I've seen how cruel the world can be, he can take all the time he needs.

  But I've obviously not given up.

"Hey Ash, how's your book." I said greeting him with a smile. "Oh hi (Y/n), its been good. Salinger doesn't dissapoint." He responded and then I sat across the table from him.

I have been sitting at spots near him in the library ever since. We'd always have short conversations with him about the books we were reading, asked how he's doing and all that. But the problem is I'm not sure if he's just going along with it to be polite or that's just the normal way he carries a conversation

  Ughhh, so complicated Ash... Once I snapped out of my thoughts, I saw that I still needed to clean up this counter, so I got to work.

  Soon enough after a few hours of work I checked the time to see that it was time for lunch. Then I remembered that I forgot my lunch this morning and had a fun time complaining to Eiji about it.

  Jeez, now this day will go by even SLOWER.... And as I was actively planning out my funeral, I saw two familiar faces step into the shop.

  "Ash, Shorter!" I said. I haven't ever seen them here, at least not while I was working. "Hey (Y/n)!" Said Shorter with a big grin. And Ash said a small "Hey." as well.

"How can I help you guys." I said. Shorter grabbed a bag and put it on the counter, "Well first off, I heard that a certain someone forgot their lunch today. And I would like a Iced Caramel Latte please." He said.

I looked at the bag, "Oh! You brought food from (Favorite Fast Food Place), You guys are seriously the best. Anything for you Ash?" I asked. "No thanks (Y/n), im fine." He responded.

  "Alright, coming right up." I said and began to prepare the drinks, there were not a lot of people in right now and they just hung around the pick up counter.

  "Has it been a busy day?" Shorter asked looking around. "Well in the morning it was, right now it's mellow and it will stay that way until the highschollers will get out." I said. In which he responded, "Ha, you poor girl."

I finished his drink and put the lid on, sliding it over to him. "I'll be able to manage." I said.

  "Well, we'll see you around (Y/n), don't die." Shorter said. "See ya, (Y/n)." Ash said. "Shorter, shut up. And ya I'll see you at the library Ash." I said and he nodded in acknowledgement as they both waved 'goodbye' and left.

Wow I am lucky I thought before I began to devour my food. Oh my gosh, I didn't really realize how much I needed this, Thank you Shorter.

  "Bye Boss!" I said leaving the coffee shop building. Then I started to head to the library. It was now getting a bit dark since I worked a little overtime today. Hope Ash will still be there... Ya I don't think I have to worry about him not being there.

  As I was walking to the library, I noticed the lack of people on the sidewalk. This is the type of situation thieves look for, keep your guard up (Y/n).

And I stayed quiet to listen to any noises as I walked, and I was about a building away from the library when I felt someone snatch my purse and started to run. He only got a bit in front of me before I grabbed him by the collar of his jacket and pulled him to the floor.

He groaned and I punched him in the nose to make sure he wouldn't move for the minute I needed to grab my purse, "I believe this belongs to me, I better not see you stealing from anyone else around here." I said

  He layed there clutching his nose and I walked towards the library again, but then I heard a familiar voice call out to me.

  "(Y/n)!" I turned to see that it was the person I suspected. Ash. "Didn't know you had that in you." He said smirking a bit.

  I laughed nervously "Hehe, ya adrenaline is one hell of a drug.." I said slightly embarrassed. Nice Excuse.  "Why where you here?" I asked.

  "Oh you werent at the library yet, so I just had to make sure you were ok." He explained. "Aw Thanks. How nice of you." I said.

  "I think its just common courtesy, anyway, it looks like you've had a long day, maybe we should go back to the apartment building." He suggested.

  And he was right, I am tired as hell. I just want to go home, eat and then sleep. So I nodded and said, "Ya that sounds good."

  We walked back to the apartment building together, partially in comfortable silence, and there were bits of conversation.

  "So Eiji does have an evil side to him." I said, amazed. "I just like to call it annoying.." Ash responded.

  I laughed at this and saw that we were at the apartment building, so we went inside and to the elevator.

The elevator arrived to our floor and Ash walked me to my door. "Thanks for walking with me Ash," I said. "It was no problem, you just have to be more careful." He said. "Be quiet, I am fine. Anyways I'll see you later, Goodnight." I said.

  "Ok (Y/n), goodnight. Try to get some good sleep tonight." He said slightly joking.

  I let out a small laugh "Haha ya." and we both parted ways. I went into my apartment, put down my purse, and flopped on my couch yet again.

  Ahhhh, im so tired... I thought I could pass out on this comfy couch right now.

   Then I realized something, WAIT A MINUTE

  I thought back to what Ash said. DOES HE KNOW ABOUT MY TERRIBLE SLEEP SCHEDULE?!!  And the more I thought about it, the more it seemed that he implied he did know. 

   I am so confused?!!! I thought. I guess I can ask about it tomorrow.. Then I did my usual nighttime routine and went fast asleep and slept through the whole night.

  Ha! I wish, I woke up at my usual time area, about 1 am. Usually there isn't anything I can do about my terrible sleeping habits, so I just go to the roof of my apartment building and chill there for a minute. I do this a lot and it helps sometimes, looking down at the city and just sitting there feeling the cool night air hit my skin, I find it soothing..

  And after a while I usually attempt to go back to sleep. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It happens I guess.

  Either way, I have a day off tomorrow, so I don't have to get up super early. With that in mind, I finally fell asleep again..

(A/n),- sorry there was no update yesterday, this was made partially yesterday and the rest was obviously typed up today. We'll see if there will be an update tomorrow. I'll try my best. In other news things are developing with reader and Ash, how exciting
