Ivy chewed her fries as she stared at Sandy's table that was full of other nerds as they chatted animatedly. It was Friday and she had three more days to come up with something scandalous about the poor girl or else there would be hell to pay, as Tony had reminded her that morning as they came to school. He didn't try to hide his annoyance that she hadn't given him anything, reminding her that Alex would be back from his grandfathers ranch soon, where his parents had dropped him off as punishment for what he did.'Why do you keep staring at the nerds table?' Dominic asked as he chewed his sandwich spilling some on the table. Ivy scrunched her face in disgust.
'You should really swallow before talking.' She responded before popping another fry into her mouth.
'I'm a guy. We are supposed to eat like animal.' Dominic joked noticing Ivy was still staring at the table like she had done for the past four days and it irked him not to know what was running through Ivy's head.
'Do you know any dirty gossip about Sandy Winters?' She suddenly asked, turning her big gray eyes to face him.
'Sandy? Why would you want to know anything about her?' He choked, surprise written all over his face.
'Just curious.' Ivy shrugged, her eyes still on Dominic and he could see determination coursing through her eyes. She had never held eye contact for this long.
'Are you a lesbian? Because I have been suspecting you are for a long time now.' Ivy's eyes widened in horror which made Dominic burst out laughing. 'I'm kidding. Gosh! You should have seen your face, priceless.' Ivy relaxed but didn't hide her dislike for Dominic's joke. She never liked people assuming things about her.
'That wasn't funny.' She said, darting her eyes to her fries.
'Come on Ivy. You can't blame me for thinking that, you never show interest in me and that only means you're into girls.' Dominic shrugged as Ivy giggled turning to face him again.
'So this is about your ego?' She teased. 'Well, you must be gay then because I've never seen you with any girl.' Dominic's smile flattered a bit as a distant look groomed his face.
'The girl I like doesn't seem to notice me.' He replied, his eyes holding Ivy's gray ones for a split second before he turned to Sandy's table. 'So I heard she lost her virginity to Jesse Weaver last week and everyone knows about it because he told the whole school.' Dominic said changing the topic. Ivy already knew about that because Tony had mentioned it but she was hoping to have more information about the girl.
'Anything else?' Dominic shrugged giving a thoughtful look.
'Well, remember last month when the guidance counselor wanted to see her after she came to school with a broken arm and bruised cheek. I'm quite sure she didn't fall down the stairs.' Ivy raised an eyebrow.
'And what makes you say so?'
'Well, I heard Tiffany Carr say that her father was an abusive alcoholic and that's why she lied.' Ivy absorbed every thing Dominic said knowing that every vital information mattered but would that cure Tony's need for vengeance?
