A loud tapping sound woke Ivy, snapping her eyes wide open in panic as she brought her body to a sitting position before turning to the sound of the noise. Her face paled as she came face to face with the last person she would ever want to see. He was leaning against her bathroom door, a mischievous smile playing on his lips and she instinctively ran a hand through her hair remembering the last time he had snuck into her room and shaved half her hair. It was in the sixth grade and he had made her the laughing stock of her peers including her own family who took the prank lightly by just scolding him. It was like they were blind to his tormenting ways.
'Don't worry, I wasn't here to cut your hair.' He laughed, moving into the room. 'Looks like you forgot to lock all the doors like you always do whenever I'm around.'
At the moment, she wasn't thinking about her mistake as she noticed he only had a tower wrapped around his torso and water was dripping from his hair down his body. She turned a shade of red. 'I can see you drooling.' He teased widening his grin. Ivy quickly composed herself shifting her eyes to her closet and sighing in relief that it was still shut.
'Please get out, Alex.' She softly told him. 'You aren't allowed in here.'
'Haven't been in here since the eighth grade. Looks the same, ugly as hell.' He commented ignoring her as he looked around her empty white washed room. There were no posters, just a framed picture of her family and another one of her aunt.
'Please Alex -'
'So what were you doing at the party last night?' He snapped, giving her a sharp look as he approached her like a predator. She found herself moving to the edge of the bed fearing his menace look. 'That place is not for freaks like you. You're lucky Tony was there or else I would have been the one to drag your ugly self out of there.' He snarled edging closer to her, Ivy's heart rate accelerated as she pushed her fuzzy hair from her face, she knew Alex's temper was far worse than her brother's and the last time he had looked this angry was when she accidentally stepped on his shoes in school and he had pushed her down the stairs, leaving her with a broken left arm.
'A-Alex you are s-scaring me.' She stammered edging even further until she felt the cold wall meet her bare shoulders. She felt like she was suffocating, trapped by a bi-polar guy in her room with her front door locked.
'You should be scared because the next time I see a freak like you near any party I won't just scold you, it will get physical.' He threatened before straightening himself and storming out of the room without another look at the panicked Ivy who had tears burning the edge of her eyes as she jumped out of her bed and dashed to lock the bathroom door before sliding down to the carpeted floor, knees tucked under her chin, rocking back and forth in fear.
'Oh god!' She sniffed rubbing her now running nose. Alex never ceased to scare her but over the years it had turned extreme and no one in her family seemed to notice how toxic he was and if they did no one bothered to comment about it. She brought her hand to her chest and slowly counted to six exhaling at each number before wiping her eyes and hurriedly standing up, rushing into her walk in closet. It was full of clothes she never wore but still kept only because her mother bought them preferring any dark clothes that would make her invisible. Her quick steps led her to the far most wall where there was a long heavy black curtain that she slowly pulled to the side revealing a whole wall of pictures.
