Henry glared at Alice pushing her aside before running after Ivy, he had witnessed the whole encounter and wondered why his friends didn't believe Alice was the secret admirer. She had claimed him in front of poor Ivy and half the people in school yet he had firmly told her so many times that he wasn't interested in dating her or anyone else.

He found Ivy in the courtyard looking furious as she hit a tree with her foot before cursing out loudly. He had never seen her mad or lose her cool in all the years she had been bullied by her brother and Alex and seemed like a different person when she pulled her hoodie off before running a shaky hand through her smooth black hair. She had her back to him and he wondered if he should give her some time to cool off or just walk up to her. He chose the latter.

'Ivy.' He called softly making his way towards her. She didn't turn around but he could see her body tense with every step he took towards her the heels on his boots making her aware that he was approaching. 'Ivy.' He called again coming to a halt next to her. She had her hand clenched and her breath was coming out heavy. He had never seen this side of Ivy and it made her even more interesting to know she did have feelings and wasn't immune to anger as she always portrayed.

'You shouldn't have followed me.' She said, her eyes focused on the numerous trees surrounding them. She never turned to look at him.

'It's my fault what happened in there and I have to apologize.' He shrugged walking to stand in front of her. She turned her face to the side avoiding his eyes.

'It's not your fault everyone is calling me a slut.' She scoffed turning her stormy eyes to him. Henry's face held guilt and she couldn't understand why. It wasn't his fault that she left her headphones hence the series of events that followed.

'I'm sorry Ivy. I didn't mean to bring you into this mess and you are not a slut.' Henry didn't know how to comfort her as tears threatened to spill.

'I know I'm not. I haven't even had my first kiss.' She whispered the last part but Henry still heard it and his eyes widened in disbelief. Ivy noticed her mistake as she quickly looked down in embarrassment, now Henry must think she was a total loser. Most seventeen year olds had multiple sex partners and she hadn't even had her first kiss.

'Wow.' Henry breathed still trying to process what Ivy had confessed. He thought most girls had sexual experience already but Ivy? She had a rough brother and could hardly hold a conversation with anyone so it wasn't much of a surprise she hadn't experienced most things. He took a step closer to her and gave her a tight hug. Her hair smelt of coconut. He could feel Ivy's body tense at the suddenly contact but before long she relaxed resting her head on his chest and he smiled in triumpance. It was the least he could do to comfort her. They never spoke a word as they stood there enjoying each others warmth until the bell rung. Henry groaned.

'I hate school at times.' He chuckled letting go of Ivy who turned her smiling face to him, her cheeks looked flushed.

'Me too.' She replied softly but none made a move to leave.

'But we should go. I don't want detention. Coach will give me hell if that happened.' Ivy nodded in understanding, her brother would also do the same. Henry turned to leave and she took slow steps behind him before he sighed and pulled her to his side draping his hand on her shoulder. She gave him a confused look.

'You were walking too slow unless you don't want to be seen with your new best friend.' He joked making Ivy giggle. She knew this was a big mistake letting the whole school see them together but this was what she had always wanted and wasn't going to let this opportunity pass as she hoped all the girls would see them together and no one would call her a freak anymore because the hottest guy in school just hugged her then walked back to school holding her. Life couldn't get any better.
