James silently stares at me for a moment before lunging at me, knife in hand and ready to attack. I lean backwards slightly before jumping away from James. I feel fear rush through my body like an adrenaline rush.
"This isn't you James!!!" I scream at him. James lightly shakes his head as if trying to get my voice out of his head. "You don't have to do any of this!!!!" But he doesn't listen. He just keeps trying to attack me. I watch as his beautiful red eyes start to glow a crimson red. After a moment or two a blue ram appears next to him and runs right at me. I dodge it a few times before finally being hit, but only by the hot, burning sparks coming off of it. Just as quickly as it appears, it disappears just as fast. "We can talk this out. I'm sure!!" Before I know what's happening bright, orange arrows fly at me. They're made of the same celestial material the ram was made of. I dodge them and hope to every God I can think of that they won't kill me. That James might actually be my protector, but I knew that was an empty hope.
"Would you stop moving around already?!" The horse he summoned disappears when he realizes it's not working.
"James, please, let's talk through this. We can get through this together if you just put away the abilities and the weapons and just talk to me."
"Why should I listen to you?!" He pulls out his gun he's named Midnight and points it at me. "Stand down or I'll shoot." I put my hands up in defense and back away slowly. "STAY STILL!!!!" James' finger finds trigger.
"Please, don't pull th-" James pulls the trigger and my first instinct is to just watch it fly at me. I don't know why, but I can't move. It's almost like I'm frozen in time. I watch the bullet as it gets closer and closer until it suddenly stops in mid air and drops to the floor.
"WHAT?!" James screams. I drift my gaze down to the bullet on the floor. Did... Did I find my protector? That means... He can't kill me. He can't even hurt me!! I look up at James and run toward him. I grab his shoulders and shake him lightly. I start to realize that it's not an empty hope. Its alive and well. James can be- No. James IS my protector. There's no if or can be about it.
"This. Isn't. YOU!!!! SNAP OUT OF IT!!!!" James only glares at me. His red eyes boring in me with hatred that I know isn't his. That I know can't be his. "Please. Just... snap out of it!" I mutter quietly.

"This. Isn't. YOU!!!! SNAP OUT OF IT!!!!" James only glares at the girl before him. "Please. Just... snap out of it!" Jynx utters softly. Jynx's hands still lay on his shoulders as she watches James' eyes bore into her like a knife into her heart. Her eyes pleading for him to stop this stupid game of his. Finally realizing that he's not going to stop trying Jynx pulls out her only option at this point. All she really wants is to save the man she loves. She moves her right hand slightly to the back of his neck and pulls him closer. Smashing their lips together. James' eyes widen slightly before melting into the kiss like chocolate being cooked in a frying pan. A small clank is heard throughout the shed as Midnight clatters to the floor. Their lips move almost in sync. Jynx's thoughts race and her heart pounds, James wraps his arms around her waist and pulls her closer, almost to prove that he feels the same as she does. James holds her close almost as if he's going to lose her. He doesn't want to lose Jynx. His Jynx. They pull away from each other and place their foreheads together.
"James?" Jynx whispers. He gives her a small hum in response. "Let's go home, okay?"
"Okay."
~~~
I walk beside Jynx on our back to the hideout, her soft, delicate hand in mine.
"I can't promise that you're not going to fall back under whatever the hell Michil had you under, but I can promise that they'll pay for this. For all of this." Jynx stops and stares at me. "Did they hurt you at all?" She asks. I look away and nervously scratch the back of my neck.
