I throw everything out of my bag for a third time and search through it all. Nothing. It's not there and this is starting to piss me off.
"What are you looking for?" Melody asks me. I look up at her.
"The Edrasos' Book of Spirits! It's gone!" Melody rolls her eyes as I go back to searching. "And it'll be back in an hour." I stop again and look over at her. She's got that look on her face that she gets when she knows she's done something wrong.
"Where's the book, Melody?" She looks away from me.
"I may or may not have given to James to bring his sister back," She mutters while slowly backing away. I sigh and rub the bridge of my nose.
"You could've told me," I reply.
"I would've, but James didn't want you to know. He was afraid you were going to get upset with him and he didn't want that since the entire organization doesn't trust him again."
"Where did he go?"
"4 miles south." I gently push past her and leave the building. I'm not mad, I'm not even upset anymore. I'm more scared than anything. What if Cheshire doesn't come back they way he expects her to? What if she comes back and she's already lost her memories? I've heard it takes longer for different people. I pressure myself to continue walking despite the fact that I'm tired and I haven't had a good day. I just want James and Felix to be okay again. I would've brought her back, but I wasn't sure how everyone react if I brought her back and not anyone else. I need to burn that book. Then it'll appear back in Ebomund and we won't have to worry about a thing! I finally spot James a mile ahead of me and brace my feet for a run. I sprint towards him just as the mist turns into Cheshire. Her brown eyes are filled with tears as she hugs her brother. I slow my run down when she spots me. She sprints toward me and hugs me so tight I thought I was going to die right then and there.
"I'm sorry I never believed you, but you were so right. If only you could've met him! He was like 6 foot and had golden eyes! His hair looked lik-"
"Slow down, girly! Who are we talking about?" I question.
"That would be me she's gushing about!" Someone says victoriously. His voice is bright and giddy, but slightly deeper than James'. I turn toward him and like Cheshire had said he was tall with those golden eyes. There was only one person in the world who would be able to look like this and talk to the dead.
"Lord Apollo?" I question. The smile that reaches his face brightens up the entire clearing. "About time you recognized me! The one girl who still worships me and my family. I'm shocked you still believe in us!" He gushes. I smile sheepishly. "Before you believed we were nothing. Then all of a sudden Olympus was back and we were able to do what we do best! Protect humanity!"
"I suppose it just felt right. It helped me to be able to pray to multiple gods and knowing that someday I'd get an answer." Apollo's smile doesn't waver. "Do you think Ares would answer me quickly?" I question. Apollo seems to think for a moment.
"I can tell you, if it has to do with war he may just show up himself. I'm afraid that's all I can help you with. You might wanna look away." The three of us direct of gaze toward the ground as a bright light flashes before us and disappears just as fast. I carefully look up and notice that he disappeared.
"And he's gone!" I look over at Cheshire for a moment. "We need to get you back to the base and soon. Then we're burning this damned book!!"

I stare into the dust and fog. We're down to two billion five hundred million thirty-nine thousand eight hundred and one men. Luckily that's only down by one hundred and ninety-nine. Still from Jordan's tracking software we were able to figure out that they have over three billion men and are only down by seven. I have only a few people with me. Felix, Cheshire, James, Dizzy and Melody. I rub the bridge of my nose for a moment before looking back out at the dust and fog. The mixture leads to clogged up view, but we're able to tell shadows in the odd sunlight walking toward us. We all pull out some sort of weapon. In my left hand is my dagger. I gently lay my right hand on my compact AK-47. This war will be the death of me if it means getting my daughter back.
