I tap my foot lightly on the ground while I do another search on QU1CK51LV3R's computer. I still can't believe that I found this. I slowly start to speed up the tapping of my foot before hearing a knock on my door. I swivel in the chair I'm sitting in and face the door as it opens to show Larissa. I let a confused expression spread across my face.
"You stole my face, my family, now you're stealing my life? Who do you think you are, Jessaline Jackson?! The second leader of the FOTD, your mother's daughter, and just some person are not correct!" She hisses at me. I let the confused expression fall from my- fall from the face I stole. My lips curl into a small smirk.
"How is this even possible? You're dead. No longer on this planet! You can't be here right now!! Especially since there is no such thing as ghosts!" I spit at her. Her lips curl into an identical smirk to mine before she bursts out laughing maniacally. I let the confused expression settle back on the same face that my confused glance stares at.
"Who said I was a ghost?" The two of us sit in silence. The same face with two different expression on it. One shocked and the other cocky. Larissa cocks her head slightly making her long, blood drenched brown hair drap carefully over her left eye. "You still haven't answered my question, Jessaline?" My jaw tightens.
"First off!" I scream as I stand up and press my index finger into the middle of her chest. "Never call me Jessaline. EVER!!" I jab my finger in her chest again. "Second off! I'm trying to catch your fucking killer, you little prissy bitch!!!" Larissa's body starts to disappear slowly.
"Then what are you waiting for?" She asks before I'm all alone once more. With a jolt I sit up quickly from the bed. Sweating like a greased pig, I slowly look over my shoulder and see the bed drenched in my own sweat. My breathing is ragged and quick. I quickly direct my gaze to across the room where me and Larissa were standing in my.... In my dream. It was a dream. Of course, how could it not be? She's dead and dreams are the only way she can get to me. I get out of the bed slowly and grab a fresh set of clothes before making my way to the bathroom. I softly close the door behind me and look in the mirror. My eyes are bloodshot and my hair is like a bird's nest, but the scariest thing is the mysterious necklace around my neck. I didn't have this yesterday when I fell asleep, but all of a sudden I have it today when I wake up. I don't know whether it's sinister or not, but I don't trust it. I turn on the water to the shower as I shed my clothes like a fucking snake. I step into the shower and close the small, glass door behind me. The water hits my back in a massaging manner. It's oddly calming.
Why is all this happening in my life? What have I done to deserve all this? First my father is sent to be killed for my actions, then Melody is killed in front of me, James gets kidnapped while we're in Apaland, now I'm gaining jewelry after a weird ass fucking dream? This doesn't make any sense. None at all. I lift up the necklace a little to get a better look at it. It's a beautiful, pointed and polished blue topaz hanging from a golden chain. The chain is just long enough for the point of the blue topaz to reach my belly button. Tearing my gaze from the mysterious necklace, I quickly finish up in the shower. Almost as if on cue, my phone starts to ring. I sigh and answer it.
"What could you possibly want at," I pull my phone away from my ear for a split second. "08:00? This better be good!" I hiss. I hear a small chuckle from the other end.
"Did my poor cous wake up on the wrong side of the bed?" I hear Fe's voice question.
"I didn't wake up on the wrong side of the bed. I just haven't made any progress here. That's all."
"Guess both our days are going to hell in a handbasket." I sit there in silence for a moment trying to figure out what could possibly be going on back home that Fe would call me like this.
