I stand in front of a large conference table that we had moved here for meetings when I first took over the FOTD. The entire FOTD is crowded around it chattering. I can sense Melody getting annoyed by this, but I'm not entirely ready to start up the meeting. My mother is standing in this room and I never thought I'd ever bring her here, let alone find out she has powers as well. Not to mention I saw my daughter knocked in the middle of some ritual circle! I take a deep breath.
"SILENCE!" I yell. The room quiets down immediately. "Good. Now let's start, shall we? Today, I made a risky move in the name of our organization and-"
"What do you mean by risky?" Volt interrupts. I feel Melody's anger flair behind me.
"I'm glad you asked," I reply quickly to calm down Melody. "I went and stole a book from the enemy, used it, and may or may not have brought back Melody." I lightly push Melody in front of me. "Not just that we now have my mother with us. Sorry, papa. Also, Arlo has Sammy. We have to get her back. We are going to split into groups. First I want to split the entire organization in half."
"Jynx, that's a lot of people. Are you sure?"
"Yes. Now, split in half. Try to be as even as possible." Everyone divides leaving the table in the middle.
"How many people do you have?" Melody muses. I smirk victoriously.
"2,500,000,000 people in counting. That's including me, Fe, James, you, and mother." The look of awe on her face is amazing. "If I calculated correctly the left side will have room for one and the right side will have room for four. Correct?" Volt looks up and down the room before nodding. "Alright. The left side go to the Community Centre and the right side stay here!" The groups obey my orders and I watch my mother stare with awe and guilt. "Now. I want you guys to split up in 400 groups. I know it's a large number, but if I did the math right that means that one group with have room for four people. Go. I'll be back." I turn to my mother. "Follow me!" I chirp. I was shocked that she actually did as we leave the room. Heading for the community centre.
"I didn't know you could do all this. It's almost like you've gather people all your life," She mutters softly.
"Cause I have. Most people live here others have homes with families. We're not just a bunch of freaks. We have lives." This seems to shake my mother as she stops dead in her tracks. "What?"
"Jess- Jynx... I'm so sorry. I've been such a horrible mother that I never saw how much you were hurting." Her words seem to mean nothing to me, but I take them in.
"Thank you. You don't know how long I've been waiting for that apology, mother. Now, let's continue." We walk into the community centre as papa runs up to us.
"You just had to bring her back," he jokes. I chuckle and scratch my neck nervously.
"Look, here's my plan. I trust you to control this side. I want them to split into groups of 400. That should leave you with 125 groups. Each group is going to be stationed in a different area. From there I want those 125 groups to break down again into groups of 5. Each one of those 125 groups should have smaller groups of 25. Each of those groups with have independent jobs to do with in their large group. Does this make sense?" I ask. My father's smile makes my heart float.
"Perfect sense. I suppose you want me to take your mother to my side?" He questions. I nod carefully.
"I'm keeping James close to me this time and I'm sure as hell not going to let Melody get away from me again. I trust you and please don't let me down." I run back to the conference room to see all the groups figured out. I count all the groups. 125 groups, perfect.
